[quote="schroedes"] Tried to hook up the good rsdc and good Atlas to see if it would work, both dual 4 ohm, amp went into protect mode right away. The amp is broken. I'm guessing when the rail voltage switches to compensate for the 1 ohm load it causes a problem with another component and ...

if the amp is drawing a lot more current, then it's most likely an output transistor.. Open it up and test them with a meter.. no need to keep powering it up in hopes of fixing it, cause the power supply will be next.

did I get a good deal?

asked the guy why he is selling. He says, not enough power to run my 1000w sub.. and that it's not as good as PG's new shit. :idiot: $100 canadian bucks. He then offers me a rockford punch hx2 10 for $200. glued together with silicone. WTF buddy. Then proceeds to tell me he installs high end car aud...

Chances are, with the power supply being that bad, you'll be looking at replacing the pwm controller, most likely SG3525AP -16pin surface mount.. Good luck.

If you decide you would rather sell it than fix it, send me a pm..

The tba1 is of no use to me, any idea what it's worth? The transmitter was wedged under the dash of a vehicle, so it has some paint missing on the front edge, and some of the writing is wore off..

I'm working on a custom with a pair of ti1200.1.

I think you are going to have a problem with only using 4 mounting holes. Probably going to vibrate like a SOB

PureDynamics, that much current draw is likely to be a bank of blown PS fets, and most likely some shorted outputs as well. I pitty the sould who has to swap outputs. The BJT outputs in this amp sell for about $5 each, and there are 32 of them... Later, Jason actually it's not so bad, the OE stuff ...

you win, the guy asked if anybody used them, I answered using my personal experience with the 1200.1. the first one I tried must have been broken, and the second also.. I'm just one opinion, why argue.

also, I hooked the sub to a alpine 1505 (900wrms), kenwood excelon 810d(900wrms), and zx475ti(4x75w), and all 3 of those amps had impressive output without turning the gain beyond the halfway point, and zero bass boost.

Exile subs are pretty good for the money though.

Let me clarify, the sub is a dual 2 ohm. I ran it at 1 ohm, and I could not get any decent sound out of it, no matter where the dials were set. There is no way that amp was putting out even close to 1200W. There was nothing wrong with the amp, I even tried a new one, with the same result.. So here i...

I tried to run a Juggernaut 12 off the 1200.1, and to get any decent output, I had to max the gain and bass boost. yes it sounded like shit for the whole 30 seconds I had it hooked up..
