So called Powergrid problems

I see some people on here say the powergrid has problems. I am just curious if there is any actual evidence about it. I have searched the forum and google and pretty much came up with nothing. I am looking at getting one as it would be a perfect distribution/ground block. I could always replace the ...

Re: Power Wire

they look the same other than the fuses but if your going to run a x200.4 and a x1200.1 you will need zero gauge, not 4g they each need 4 gauge so 2 or 0 gauge is needed very nice amps love them both let me know if you ever sell them mike You can run 4g wire as each amp has 2 power / ground connect...

Re: DD5 - DD10 Suggestions Needed!!!

While they were neat pieces, I dont see the demand of them high enough for them to justify bringing them to the market. I can grab a ditroblock from Knu, they have small ones made for accessories now, and add a delay circiut to it if need be for way cheaper than what PG would offer them for. I like ...

Re: Making a MS Series amp ready for daily?

I concur with not touching the rail caps unless you are experienced with it or ready to pay somebody to fix it after you rip out the pad. I hate snap in caps. Eric had to fix mine :)

I guess thats a big no :) Hopefully I will have acouple SD amps or some TI's coming up. Not sure about the TI's as they are kinda high in price.

Re: Drew's OEM Rte 66 Restore

I know that the gains on most modern amps go high to low, for example my DLS A series goes 7v-.2v Maybe the gain pots were different in the older PG's, maybe them make them both ways.

Re: Drew's OEM Rte 66 Restore

Your gain labels are backwards, are they not? they read .2-2 but the original reads 2-.2

Then your bass boost, says the Gain range instead of 0-+12

Other than the line thickness in acouple spots, mainly like the one Eric was saying, I think it looks really good.

Re: so ubuy = robbert zeff

Its just like Arc saying they design their amps, they dont. Its a bounch of BS but atleast we do know who designed them and that they are good amps. Robert Zeff is the lead EE for Nikola someone posted this in another thread. Yes, Nikola is the design house for UBUY, but only for the higher quality ...

Re: SD800.5

Eric, I post some pics up when I take some decent ones... The SD500.4 and SD800.5 uses an NXP IC for the front/rear channels. However for the sub channel of the SD800.5 and SD600.1 we use a different topology to provide more power into lower impedance non-bridged loads. I see some other posts claim...

Re: SD800.5

Arc states theirs only has a freq range of up to 250hz, so I would imagine PG's is the same. You would think they should be capable of fullrange like the rest of the line.

Re: new amps

shit...the 4 channel does look damn smiler (the PG has less caps?) It does look like it, maybe they bypassed 2 spots and used bigger uf values. I will say that every Zeff designed amp I have used has been nothing but great. Will do what its rated for and reliable as hell. Depending on price point, ...

Re: new amps

the internals through the window look quite a bit different to me then the ubuy. i cant find guts pics of the cerwin or arc ones. I would be willing to bet money that the internal layout is the exact same thing. Now brand of caps and such might be different, but layout is the exact same. I would li...

Whats the enclosure requirements for the new slim subs? I am hoping small or tiny. I dont see the point of these shallow woofers that require regular sized boxes.

Why? Whats the point in that? It was useful to competitors back in the day with the "cheater amps" but is totally irrelevant today. I would rather know what my amp is gonna do when the car is running. Whats an extra 30% in power anyways, nothing.

You could always use 1" MDF, it mostly has to be special ordered, but I know mine in St. Louis comes from Illinois somewhere. But after I went into the lumber yard and ordered it I had it in 2 days.

You are gonna need to stiffen the door panel up alot to get decent results like that. The panel vibrates cancelling the cone movement. You can attach some wood dowels or rods from the panel to the actual door. I would also fiberglass the back side of the plastic door panel with fiberglass after sand...
