However, I never tried it, but it could be possible it makes more since IIRC the 2125 makes ~700 @ 2ohm mono...

Welcome to the site. Be sure that the input caps are replaced, if not you must have them replaced. Rail caps are optional, but recommended. If new caps are replaced and the amp is used properly, the amps should last as long as you have them. Also be sure that there are no loose copper strands inside...
