Definitely upgrade to the 1/0g wire to the pwr block, then run 4g to the amps. Ran a 500.4 and 1200.1 running 1/0g to the block and 4g to the amps and never had a problem blowing fuses, just make sure you don't have any exposed metal-to-metal contact from the block to any metal part in the car or it...

Look into the Image Dynamics IDMAX 10" or 12" ...have ran both sizes and to this day is my favorite sub besides the old-skool TI subs. Make sure if you do get one that it's the v3 version as the company changed owners and haven't heard anything about the v4.

Agreed that Alpine doesn't make a high-end deck currently , but if you look around for a CDA-9887 or CDA-117, both are fantastic decks and the sound quality is top notch (Have ran both HU's and currently have the CDA-117 installed).

Image Dynamics IDMAX is insane as well as tight and clean ...have been running a single 10D4v3 off the sub channel on my Elite.5 and is just ...just ...incredible output for a single 10 (1000wrms, 1800 musical / peak).

Dude ...The Elite.5 is a monster and well worth the coin 8) . Have been running mine for a year pushing 2 sets of ID XS65's, CDT Wsi100 Imaging tweets and an IDMAX10D4v3 at 2ohm and will be buried with that amp :shock: . Going to be swapping out the IDMAX for 2 NIB condition old-skool TI10D4's at a ...
