Now the subs are not playing but the amps are on, when I move the rca cables, the subwoofers starts going crazy. ...

"what's your take on the smaller ones, are they just ALL prone to heat no matter location on the board? " are you talking about resistors or caps ?? I was referring to the caps. There seems to be no consistency from amp to amp of the same series which of the small caps get hot and melt th...

Re: how to repair damaged tru-holes while replacing caps

Repairing the rca terminals was not so badly done, install the new ones like that and you'll be fine. About the cap replacement; I think the method that I described to repair this kind of damage will work. I advice to replace the small caps and re-solder the resistors as caps that have been under a...

Previous repair on RCA terminals, before: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y94/JayGold/20120701_172023.jpg After removal of terminal. Re: Repairing capacitors on MS amps

Thanks guys, as for the specs I have 100uF and 25V, I just couldn't find any concrete info if it helps to upgrade these from 85C to 105C and which series to purchase.
The OEM ones are Panasonic SU-Series, I have also found Panasonic FC-Series....what does the series pertain to?

Re: Repairing capacitors on MS amps

Wow, usually I get answers fairly quick on here. Has no one ever swapped out the smaller caps, I have searched up and down the site for info on this and either its very vague, unanswered or not found in a search.

Someone has to know. Help please?

Remove the screws, then select a drill bit (4mm or so) that fits perfectly into the transistor hole. Push the flat end of the drill bit all the way into the hole (PG p0rn:-)) and use it as a lever to gently bend the transistor off the heatsink. And prior to that, heat the sink with a hair-dryer to ...
