Re: active or passive

For most people the difference between active and passive will be night and day, but only because they have the active setup wrong, so it sounds worse than the passive. Active has the "potential" to be equivalent or even better in some instances, but your typical DIY car audio enthusiast ...

Re: Just scored!

So, I had these amps gone through, and picked up another 275. Several had the caps done, but the work was so so, but I also wanted the opamps and audio caps done, so I had all 4 amps redone with the upgrades. Pics are on diyma here http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/old-school-car-audio-discussion/...

4nine

Purchased his dd10,
He shipped fast and it was pakaged well.
I really didn't care what the condition was, and his looked clean, but when it showed up it really appears almost perfect.
Some sellers like to exaggerate the condition, he almost understated it.

Thanks Alan!

Re: Whitenoise

Purchased a ms1000ta, shoddy packing resulted in amp damage. Wasn't cooperative and wanted to purchase parts for me to fix the amp. Had to open a paypal claim to retrieve my funds which turned into a personal attack. I know many have delt with don over the years, and had a good experience, but this ...

Re: Todays subs

They are dual 4, but an m100 bridged to an 8 ohm load should team up well.
There is a ton on www.diymobileaudio.com for info, reviews and discussions on si products

That's a beauty sir,
And thanks for rebuilding it, I like the fact that it was your first reaction. I think so many of us plan to do it, and shelve it till a "better day"

Re: ZPA 0.3 bridged on 1 TI10d 4ohm

That would be perfect,
Make sure the amps are in good working order though. Have a phoenix pro check them out for caps leaking and resister issues.
After that you'll need a ton of power for these, so make sure your power flow is laid out appropriately

Well I definatly need something to power my sub, until that happens I'm not swapping over to the phoenix amps. Like I said, the Orion's are a pakage, 225, 150, 250, and 275.
I hope to find a sub amp soon, and do some trading for it.

What do you mean not sure what will happen to them?
I may keep them, or use them in another car. A good friend of mine got them for me, so he should get first dibs if they do get sold.after all that, you are next I swear :D

What's the capacitance for the rail caps on the MS275? I scored one yesterday off of CL and I was quite surprised to find a large pair of 35v 15,000uf caps.
That's exactly what's in the 2240, I don't remember what was in the 275, but my first thought was to have the 15000 installed in it.
