Wow. Y'all are lucky Randolph only grated your eyes and ears with his ignorance on amplifiers.

Things Your Burglar Won't Tell You

His entrance is at post #38.

The thing with the RSdC 12" and compatibility is the undersize basket and bolt circle. If the previous woofers were standard size, you may be able to drive it in, but it'll be close. You should maybe build or buy some baffle rings. As far as the size, less than optimal, but with 2 in a hatchbac...

A 0G ring terminal, maybe? You can get a really nice one with a set screw from most any online retailer.

I've got 1/0 from my battery to the trunk distro, and 4g i/o both amps.

Congrats, That IDMax is a nice woofer. Very efficient. I think everyone here forgot about the Fletcher-Munsen Ear Curve. In a anechoic chamber perhaps one could say that this is the correct box size or woofer for any given application, but in a vehicle there are too many variables to account for. I...

You could maybe get more sound out of it. Maybe. That would also depend if your speakers can handle any more power than you're giving them.

It's pretty expensive, too. It definitely won't hurt. I personally wouldn't buy it for ~$400, but it's totally your call.

Got her in. There's only about 1 hour on it at this point, but I'm already totally satisfied. In short, the IDMAX is all around better sounding in every way than the RSdC. At low volumes I can her alot more music coming through it. Not just sound, music. And it also plays alot louder, too, with even...

Sorry. You're absolutely right about that.

I doubt you'd see much benefit with that thing. Really depends on what your amp is seeing, and if you can actually use the power.

I don't have any experience with that product, But from what I gather, whether or not it will help depends on what voltage your amps are seeing and what voltage they're regulated to, if any. This is power from the battery, not signal (RCA) voltage. If your amps are not regulated, then you will proba...

I'm not sure of the make/model, but based on that door panel, that's the last car you'd want some "rim-lookin'-ass" speaker grills in.

I speak from direct experience when I say that, for my particular system, this box sounds better than the PG spec box. Perhaps it's just the Q of my car, or the way it blends with my fronts. There was a little more punchiness in the hi-end with the smaller box, but now I have better low-end with jus...

I don't know about your panel. Maybe it's actually free, and the release handle just needs to be pulled out to get through the hole??? Sorry. Did you buy speakers and an amp yet? For clean install sake, I seriously suggest coax. The RSD tweet isn't the prettiest thing in the world, particularly agai...

If I were you, I'd just do the coax RSDs, and spend my energy figuring out how to mount 6.5"s in the stock location if possible. It looks like there may be plenty of space.

It could save you from ruining your door panels.

Full bandpass Linkwitz-Riley x-overs would be great, but they're not really the kind of thing that goes on entry level equipment.

This is a wishlist, though.

Like everyone else said, change the look. I was at Fry's yesterday and I took a look at their amps. The Ryval was the ugliest on the wall - Fusion had their own area. The iron cross is totally cornball. They're not too bad aside from that, but if they're up for a redesign, you may as well clean up t...

Thanks for the comparison. That's exactly what I was looking for. If anyone else has something to contribute, please do. Concerning the box, again, it sounds better than the PG spec box. There is much more low end, so I don't have to push the sub as hard to achieve the same output, which results in ...

Thanks, fellas. I really appreciate all the help. However, I'm not in need of tech support. I really just need an honest comparison. The amp is rated @ 1200 rms, which I know is double the rated power of the sub. The input is not clipping, and there's no silly bass boost circuit. I've played the sub...

1.9 is way too big for the RSD comp. The regular RSD woofers require large boxes, but I wouldn't put a comp woofer in anything bigger than 1.25 or so. Try your old box, or put pieces of styrofoam in your big box to take up airspace. It's aligned to roughly .707 Qtc per AJ sealed box designer. Eithe...

You sure the distortion isn't your amp clipping? Absolutely positive. It's definitely subwoofer distortion (max excursion, mechanical clicking sound). Not only that, but the input is matched and the amp also has a clipping LED. I have it set so that the light never comes on, although it's fine to h...

passive up front, active for subs (sub outs crossed at 50/80/125 depending and fronts crossed at 80 or 125 ) actu Just curious why you wouldn't run the fronts active it would sound better. well that's kinda a loaded question or one that is difficult to answer.. as I am really not sure to be honest....
