This seems like a good active crossover: Lanzar OPTIX10.

It's 12 db/oct though - What disadvantages does that have to a 24 db/oct filter?

Recommend an Active Crossover

I'm looking for a 2 way active crossover to split my TI6 Elites, but don't know any that is good and inexpensive. Anyone have any good ideas?

I was thinking about getting an MA Audio HK2X, but can't find it anywhere.

Thanks!

You have the acoustics in a concert which make it seem like it's coming from all sides. I agree with you that it should come from the front, but you should have a bit of an "all-around" feeling to make the sound much fuller. I burnt the elite tweeters in the back a long time ago when I did...

I bought a Cadence amp for them. It has bout 80W rms. I haven't installed it yet. Should I just go ahead and see what it is like? Or am I wasting my time. I personally like Cadence amps. I never had the RSDs, but from what everyone is saying, you might not have enough power at 80w RMS. Again, it's ...

Wow, thanks for all the replies! They are rated for 120W, where did you get 65? :? Saw it on e-bay, they said 60w RMS/120 Peak. Then I looked at the manual, and saw 120w RMS and I figured it's 120w per pair. I do not recommend running tweeters anywhere but the very front of the car. Rear fill is onl...

sorry, last thing posted by me in a row... I've also noticed, by specifications, that these appear to be the worst of the past couple of series...

1. TI Elite
2. Xenon
3. Tantrum
4. RSD

Is this right, by anyone that has experience with them? This is strictly talking about the 6.5 component sets.

I have two TI6 Elite mids with two cheap Kenwood tweets I just dropped in there right now. I'm pretty sure the kenwood tweets are now blown cause I was pushing 200w to them through the elite passive x-over. If there's a better option, what would you recommend? Maybe not to go with any tweets at all ...

RSD65 @ 200w??

I see that they support 65w RMS x 2 at most. My question is, can you hook up a x200.4 to them and power them with 200w RMS x 2? That's more than 3 times the recommended power. How do they sound? I know the TI6 Elites start sounding bad when you push 400w RMS x 2 to them, even though they are rated a...

Greg, you down to do one more job? maybe we could talk about my install. Those look really sexy, and if you have time/price is right (as all the rest of us, I'm now broke), I might come down there to Lancaster and take u up on an install. You're about 3 hours away from me, which is not bad at all.

I don't have mine sealed at all... too much work. Hell, I don't even have the 9s sealed.

Sorry, meant the TI12D Elite, not the normal TI12s.

I think a lot of subs will walk all over the TI12 if you're only giving them 250 watts.

It's really made as a high end sub, which needs a high end amp, alternator, etc. Not really just plug and play with any amp typa thing.

I have 2 sets of TI6 elites (front & back) running off a X200.4 and let me just tell you, I have never, ever, ever heard such clean speakers and so loud. They do not produce any midbass, but I guess they were set up so you provide other means of getting the midbass (hence my TI9s). As for the TI...

Re: Stipud...quick question

800 watts is a good guesstimate if your amp didn't come with the second birthsheet. Since Xe.load balances power output between 1-4 ohms, you want to set gains assuming 4 ohms instead of your actual subwoofer impedance (2 ohms). Is this 800 watt rating at 4 ohms or 2 ohms? I know that the amp uses ...

Once you do what Stipud says you will never go back! Its very easy and very reliable and yiou can set up amp systems in no time really if you have a plan on what your going to do. I have a question regarding this Stipud. You say to adjust his setup on the best load of the amp which would be 4 ohms....

okay, I was thinking of using the 500.4 on the tweets and getting another amp for the 9s, but you can do what you showed in your diagram. As for the tweets, if you get a powerful 200~250 watt x 2 amp, you can get away with 2 tweets. They really scream at that power, and not sure if you need all 4 of...

yes only if there's an internal short in the amps. The best way to test this is to check the amperage going from your battery to the amps when the amps are off. If there's a fairly large amount of amps (like 5 amps would be a large amount if they're off), then there's an internal short somewhere in ...

I did a lot of experimenting with this and this is what I got: The mids sound great around 200 watts, so I would def put a 600.2 per set of mids. The tweets sound great at 100 watts, so 75 watts would not be much worse, so I would go with the TI500.4 on the tweets. 75w on tweets and 150w on mids wil...

I don't know much about the RDS line, but the TI6 Elites sound amazing at 100 Hz HP on an x200.4. Any lower then that and they start to sound sloppy.

Does the foam fill work for all sub boxes, or is it just for setting up the subs the way you have them (facing inside, forget what it's called)?

Although that's a good idea, the 3db difference is a big difference for me. I heard the 6" with 100w power when using the TI400.2 vs 200w power when using the x200.4 and it makes a huge difference. I also would like to power the TI6 Elites in the back with some power; it makes no sense to have ...

That's too much for a simple lowpass or highpass filter I need. I'll just pick up some 24 db/oct 2 way crossover to do the job.

I'm powering the TI9s with TI400.2 amps. I don't know of any way I can use the crossovers on the TI amps to get bandpass. They have lowpass, highpass, bypass.

What do you recommend I do to get them in bandpass? My current setup right now is from the HU, to the TLD66 line driver, to the x200.4, y-split to 2 TI400.2 amps. I really don't want to get an external active crossover because 1) don't have any more money to spend and 2) have no idea where to put th...
