I have read different ideas about using Dyna or like products to kill the noise (I have used Dyna in all my comp trucks) I am not sure what is really the heat r...

Re: New guy looking for advice
I agree with Wrennagade! You can find deals on CL but do you know or trust them! I recently bought a mint MPS2500 Off CL by the time I got it, it was very damaged in shipping! Due to the fact that it was squeezed in to a box the same size as the amp with no padding! If you buy from guys here you wil...

Re: Not PG, but looking to fix and make $$$$
Should be. Remove the bad diodes, clean it up with super pure alcohol, and then test the leads to make sure you have continuity where you need it. You should be able to replace the diodes and caps and make a few quick bucks. Here's an example,of what I'm saying. I bought this amp for cheap... http:...

I think he just got lucky! I have seen guys try them before and didn't work for them either. I figured it was just a gimmick.ttocs wrote:if I could never get rid of it those things never worked for me.

Re: Engine noise?
Unscrew the amp from the metal see if it goes away if it does mount a piece of wood under the carpet then mount the amp to that. I have had these issues with MS MPS and M PG amps before. I just talked to him, He said that he tried that! It looks more like its the head unit causing the problem he di...

Amp is running 2 ohm stereo. Its a 71 Z28 with a HEI Distributor. Amp is grounded very solid on the cha...

CAR PARTS! I have had a few deliveries this week leading up to one big box I am anxiously awaiting, my new carbon fiber hood. I am going with a flush aerocatch style hood pin to ensure it stays down and couldn't prop the new hood up with the old prop rod now could I? https://driiive.com/assets/cars...

Re: Old school build
Found a Alpine 3549 a few days ago, I will be using that for the sub duty. Just can't decide what sub to use. I'm thinking of using a ti12 svc4 (old ones). Also the amp is in great shape but has one corner bent a bit. Anyone know if I can safely bend it back? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/13/ahur...

Re: M-series ?
Its normal....one side is inverted...DO NOT MESS WITH IT!! The two inner terminals (IIRC) are signal grounded (get a dmm with continuity mode and you will get a beep from those two terminals). All (well most) amplifiers are like this...one side is inverted so they can be bridged. OK! That does help...

Re: Understanding RMS vs Peak
Totally agree with these guys! If the power is clean and stable you are all good! I have always lived by 1 rule, just like assumption- distortion and voltage drops are the mother of all fuck ups! I have seen guys cook good subs with a shit amp and vice versa because of THD levels. Like what was said...
