ZPA0.5 techy question

I've just been replacing some driver boards on a friends 0.5 after the repair shop had been in there. The boards I've put in are rev D whereas the ones out where rev A, will that make a difference to anything, about all that was different immediately was the bias pots where wound further round. It di...

Re: What am I looking at??

the one I pulled apart to investigate it just appeared the voice coil slipped off the bottom of the former, it only takes a small bit to catch and as the speaker is run it will just continue to pull more and more coil off the former until it leaves no gap between the motor and the voice coil

Re: What am I looking at??

most definately voicecoil, pretty soon it will have lost enough coil off the former that it will impede movement of the sub, have seen it on one customers sub.

Re: H3 project today

Nice upgrade! 8) I wish it was that easy to do on my Charger! But swapping them lights out means a full rebuild of the forward light harnness because the 40 year old switch in the dash can´t handle the higher current flow. :( If you were to add a relay and new power source from the battery through ...

Re: Kinetik power cells

I sold a few here in New Zealand for a while, they are fantastic. I have even used the baby 600 in my corvette as the only battery without any issues. I've passed that one on to my friend for his jetski and now use the 800 in the vette. I just went to move the vette the other day as I hadn't driven ...

Here's a few more, hopefully they give you a little more idea of how I have mine, excuse the mess in the console and under dash, also the crossover you can see is a temporary fixture, it will be gone soon. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/gfunk_nz/DSC_0434.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: want and need ideas mk2 jetta 1986-1992

No worries, if there's enough light when I get home I'll get a few more for you, mine is also a 5 speed although you can't see the clutch, hopefully I can get a better angle that shows how much room there is between the accelerator and pod, it's tight but easy enough to drive with. Mine had a big pl...

Re: want and need ideas mk2 jetta 1986-1992

I'm now running a pioneer P80RS headunit and currently just a single Ascendant Audio Arsenal 12 in about 1.8cuft ported. Did you want more pics of the front or the rest. The rest is currently just thrown in the back so I'm to embarrased to take pics of that. I am planning to finally do a tidy boot i...

Re: want and need ideas mk2 jetta 1986-1992

Obviously your's will be left hand drive as opposed to right hand drive like mine, and mine's a golf, I expect it will be very similar. Here are a couple of pictures of the front end I've just done, I used Ascendant Audio Havoc 7" mids and the tweeters they supplied which a I believe a Seas Pre...

Re: Nice engine sound!

well that's just super gay, why oh why would you ever put that onto a blown engine, the whine that you get from the toothed belts is the best sound you can get in my opinion

Re: Nice engine sound!

That's the strangest noise I've heard from a S/C, normally you just get the whine from the belt

it sounds pretty normal, not distorted at all. So may it just be coincidence that there is something else wrong there possibly in the pre amp department then?

Low output on ZX450 after repair

After spending a lot on having a ZX450 sorted out, I finally got round to installing it, I had intended to use it to run my fronts actively, however after removing the ZX250 and installing the 450 the output was way lower, infact when I measured the output just with music, obviously not ideal it was...

Cyclone movement question

The new cyclone I have just recieved seems to play alright and I can move the vanes by hand, but I'm unsure how freely they should move and whether they should actually return to a centre position by themselves or not. I don't want to pull it apart just yet until I know whether it's normal or not.

It's definately not a cap, I had another one in my Golf just near the amps, it worked really well when I had it cranked, it did a good job of keeping my voltage up. Also because of the really low internal resistance they are actually very easy on the alternator

they do say to check the charge state initially, but they first lot of kinetiks I bought in to the country sat round for 6 months before arriving, I tried the 600 out in my corvette and it fired it up no drama's without having to charge it, they hold a good charge for ages!!

Wow very cool, is it all screen printing or something else, it doesn't look like vinyl. I wish you weren't on the other side of the world from me, it would be great to have a few things done by you.
