I wanted aluminum, but what do you guys think about something like this?
Some of the advantages it offers are cost, mounting flanges, and integral PCB mounting bosses.

Ouch
So, I had a spot of trouble while skateboarding yesterday. Both elbows and one knee are pretty well trashed. Can barely move my arms, and even then, only through about 15* of motion. I really should be more careful. And I should probably stop after hurting one elbow, instead of continuing to try the...

A few things, I have been able to find some decent terminal blocks, but the issue with them is that they have the leads on the bottom, so basically, they would need to be mounted to the PCB. making it so that the cover would need to be removed in order to tighten/loosen the connections. Obviously I ...

why not just get some spade terminals that you could use insulated female spades that easily crimp on the wires, and easily disconnect with a small pull? Do you know the style? I use them on the bottom of relays to make quick and easy connections and can take a pic if you need but these would be su...

I've spent the past two days looking at connectors. I have found a low-cost solution for general connections, but the larger power connectors are proving very evasive, unless I were willing to spend $10+ on that one connector, which I am not. I'm already hitting about $20 in parts without an enclosu...

Somewhat surprisingly, I am finding connectors to be a serious hurdle. It's pretty tough to find decent connectors that won't end up with a total cost around $30. That amount is simply unacceptable, as it would end up costing more than everything else. Another possible hurdle, though I haven't delve...

Actually, after stopping to think, the way a fan without a remote input should be wires is B- and R, not using B+, as B+ is direct to batt in the current design. Hrmmm. As to looks, I think I know what looks good, the problem is that I really have to idea exactly what I need to look for, and no idea...

Thanks for the support guys. That really is very encouraging to hear. Really helps me stay focused. As to the purdy lights, I am leaving LEDs for last. I intend to work something out with them, but I need to get the rest in order first. That said though, does anyone have any LED suggestions? Like an...

Are you fusing each of the power outputs? Also, will there just be turn on delay for the amps or will there also be turn off delay on the processors? I am working on having both turn-on delay for the amps and turn-off delay for the processors. I found an easy way to do it, using a single module, bu...

I think all the turn on delay is, is a cap and a resistor. A pot would make it adjustable. Yeah, I was looking at doing it that way too, though I worry that the cap may delay off as well as on. The ckt I am using at the moment prevents that, and also some other stuff with voltage drops and stuff. I...

With myself included, it sounds like I should be able to count on at least five units, and four is the minimum that it is at all reasonable for me to make. I'd probably do 9 though, as that drops the PCB cost another big chunk, and I should be able to eventually move them. Here is a layout of a basi...

Great post! Thanks for all the work cojones. I am actually surprised at the dealer markup. i would have thought it was way higher than it was. Now I kinda feel bad for trying to haggle my dealer (when there was one) for a better price. Seriously? From what I noticed, the MSRP provides for 50-100% m...

I decided to try a new truck design. I am satisfied with the results. :) I am gonna try and tweak the design some more for more stable load distribution, as this design relies on the cargo staying in the rear of the vehicle when airborne, allowing me to do away with the ballast I had in the rear of ...

This shit is addictive. A 10 second run is proving almost impossible. Right now, I've got a cart that hits 12's about 66% of the time, and 11's 33% of the time. Back to the drawing board. Oh, and 15/15 100% of coarse. :) Show me a screenshot of your cart :D Don't have it anymore, but I'll see if I ...
