Re: Phoenix Gold ZX500 with high frequency noise
my first thought would be it comes out of the crossover board...does it have a green quadpot in it?? those pots caused alot of trouble in the past...... but if you didn't have this noise before cap changing, maybe you did something else wrong..... did you only replace the rail caps ? or did you mean...

Re: Recommend me a small SQ sub for my PG system please :-)
i would put the m25 on the speakers.....soundwise you hear a difference with the M50...... the m25 just sounds better, especially in the mid and high frequencies....... that leaves you the M50 who will give around 250rms at 4ohm and 360rms at 2 ohm, brigded...... http://intl.jlaudio.com/8w7ae-3-car...

Re: ZPA 0.3 bridged on 1 TI10d 4ohm
alot of things in the zpa are important..... next to replacing the ps caps, upgrading the amp to a V2 version, and even replacing the irfz44 to a irfz48 or something else in the powersupply, having the bias set back to good values...... the zpa will only switch into the high current mode if the amp ...

Re: old style elite 12d setup
if you have a zpa0.5 in the future, just use it for speakers.....no amp sounds like this one do, especially in the mid and high frequencies..... yes you can do the mod to lock this amp in the HV mode, but probably the ps fets (irfz44) will fail with the first voltage drop that comes..... those fet'...

Re: old style elite 12d setup
Hey VW, Yeah the factory recommended rms is 1200 but it seems widely accepted that it takes more than that to get this sub moving. Have you used the elite 12d? I'd like to hear from guys who have some different setups with it and what their best results were achieved with wattage wise. There is a z...

nice........... i got exactly the same of both....both new in 1998.... enjoyed them for 10years along with a black zx350....... if both amps are recapped you're fine......and new cooling paste also on the fet's / transistors..... one main thing about the zx amps is, that after some years, setting ba...

Re: AX204A smells burnt no marks on board
It may be something as simple as the wrong r-network used. I had a member here send me a PG processor (can't remember model) but ended up being the wrong r-network chip, it caused similar issue.....high pitch noise (around 1khz) on all of the outputs. witch one are "the wrong R-nets" ?? t...

Re: ZPA passive cooling
i understand very good the problem about the noisy V2 adda fans..... the fans are good......for an amp that is driven hard and playing loud all the time.... i have found a little solution in this.... in some of my zpa's i brought back an panaflo fan or a alternative orion model i found on mouser.......
Re: ZPA0.3
I recapped this ZPA and gave it a little try. First thing I noticed is that the DC offset has changed from 11/15mV to about 30/50mV. This puzzles me, because I havent touched the bias pots. I did remove and reinstall the heat sinks. Also the fans werent connected when I measured DC offset. SO maybe...

Re: Ti500.4 vs Zx450v2
As far a crossovers I think the only big differences is the ability to bi amp. By this I mean to be able to band pass the rear channels on the ti. The zx can do the x10 but is a high pass on the rears. Now of you run a high pass signal in you could low pass the rear channels and do the same thing. ...

Re: Just scored!
GUTS What's the capacitance for the rail caps on the MS275? I scored one yesterday off of CL and I was quite surprised to find a large pair of 35v 15,000uf caps. i also have 2 ms275 with railcaps simular like this in it.........maybe PG was out of stock that time and they putted these in that momen...

Re: Need some troubleshooting help with balanced signal
3 crossovers with exactly the same issue ?? no , probably all 3 are fine and this issue is located somewhere else....... maybe you can solve the issue with taking the B+ for the crossover from another point of where you take it now or take another point in the car for B- also...... about the switch ...
Re: Octane LE
I would replace the 8 ps caps to be sure.....i wouldn't trust those....
wasn't this amp 2 zx400ti, basscube and ti powercore all in one ??
wasn't this amp 2 zx400ti, basscube and ti powercore all in one ??
Re: ZPA0.3
you took a big risk by powering the amp up first of all.............you're a Lucky man nothing happened.... please recap it first............... can you measure one time the value of those big resistors on the vertikal daughterboard ?? are they 270ohm of 330ohm ?? a line driver will benefit for sure...

Nils, do you have a link of the gain pots you ordered ??
