another pg watch?

Post by ttocs »

I have been wondering if these were really vintage or not but isn't this the 3rd or 4th one in the last year or so?

Am starting to think their cheap China reproductions....counterfeits. If not, its still not like pg was anexpert at watch making lol.

there have been places that would put your logo on a $2 watch and sell it to you for $20+ for some time now and I wondered that with the first one. Did anyone buy one here? Any chance there is a manf date/year on it somewhere?

I thought that on the first one. Nothing can exist for 20+ years and have the kinds of Phoenix Gold collectors that are on this board never have seen one.

I thought it was a little strange as well but then I don't think anyone had seen that lapel pin I got last year either. It could be real but I really don't think so myself either which is why I never bid on them.

I was told they were a promo item that was supposed to be for a few dealers but they never went out. So the seller has a box of them I think. Who knows how many. But there's a few for sure.
I have one. If they are fakes oh well but on the other hand they look old gold lol. So If I were to make a fake it would look much better so I could actually sell them. It's cool either way.

You'll probably have to unscrew the back and look inside.

Ok just had a look.
No the batt is done. And I can't figure out how to get it open. I just put a tiny scratch on the edge trying to open it. So I'll take it somewhere to get it opened.

Did you try twisting it both ways (counterclockwise and clockwise) it may be threaded...but am no watch expert either.

It likely is. Should be a counterclockwise twist.

If it was threaded, it would have wrench slots.
It should just pop off with a knife

I am trying to get the back off but it's not working. There is no slots to turn with the wrench. So I'm sure it must just pop off.

Pic of the lapel pin? A buddy at work has had one on his jackets forever that he got from a local dealer in the late 90's. He still has the old RCA ended keychain as well.
