Ouch

Post by Grim0013 »

So, I had a spot of trouble while skateboarding yesterday. Both elbows and one knee are pretty well trashed. Can barely move my arms, and even then, only through about 15* of motion. I really should be more careful. And I should probably stop after hurting one elbow, instead of continuing to try the same thing, hehe. And then going to an underground hardcore punk show afterward was possibly a bad idea as well. I can't pass up a mosh pit with a bunch of skinny emo kids though. That's me. :metal:

The pic of the elbow, that lump isn't the bone. That's what is sticking out the side of both of my elbows. When I took my hoodie off and saw them, I was like, "holy shit, I'm deformed!" hehe.

The knee, while ugly and painful, is not anywhere near as bad as the elbows.

Nothing like some war damage to remind one of what it is to be alive.

My elbows still have scars from skateboarding and I haven't really gone out in years now.

Unfortunately pads would have done no good. The elbows themselves never touched the ground. It was the impact on the heels of my pals getting transmitted up through to the elbows. Basically, I need to work on rolling with my falls better. And as to the cut up knee; that was really only included for dramatic effect. :) Cuts and scrapes don't hurt. Ligaments and tendons do, and the way you injure those, no pad in the world is going to help you. Why do you think you see so few pros (in any sport) wearing knee or elbow protection?
