Simple FG RSd10 enclosure / 2006 Sequoia

System-

2006 Toyota Sequoia
X600.1 - in jack compartment under rear passenger seat.
RSd10 - in rear storage pocket
Factory integrated

Very simple fiberglass enclosure, total project time = 2 Saturdays.

damn, that amp fit in way better than i thought it would.

did she like it? or even care, lol?

did you have to rewire the interconnects at all?

any pics of the "first" mold

For those that don't know the very first casting was made with out of date resin and wouldn't cure, but when it finally started to do something it completely collapsed in on itself. grrrr.

Nicely done. I like the wiring.

I assume since you are putting a grille on it that you can't fit the factory panel back over it? Why not use a factory matching carpet or vinyl instead of the gray carpet?

You've got some balls for cutting all that factory metal. I just can't bring myself to do it on any car worth more than the stereo.

The black looked better on the sub panel than matching carpet since the sub is silvery with a black surround. Also carpet keeps the panel from rattling against the enclosure.

Since you've already cut everything, the install looks like it will be semi-permanent. I think the clips for the factory panel look a bit out of place over the woofer enclosure... Maybe trimming that would make it look more integrated? I guess I'm just being picky now.

So who's ride is this? Your lady friend's?

Other than the slot to stuff the amp into place, the truck can return 100% to stock. So no panel trim. I refuse to make permanent mods in such a simple install however the amp could not be installed any other way and not be visible.

What did you use to insulate the terminals that you connected to the circuit breaker? It's not just regular electrical tape is it? Reason I ask is I want to insulate mine like that.

3m Temflex ........electrical tape. I will likely replace it with heat shrink if the car ever comes my way again.

You can get clear heatshrink which is the best for that application.

BTW nice clean install. Thanks for the info. Will the Temflex hold up ok under the hood? I don't have access to a heat gun.

there are 2 forms of tape I will use both are by 3M one is Super 33+ which is $5-6 a roll and Temflex which is $3-4 a roll, I highly prefer the 33+ but with as quick as I burn through it, it adds up and hits the wallet a bit harder.
