As I've mentioned, my daily driver is an '05 Chrysler 300C Hemi. The OEM sound system is very good except, of course, it can't get real low. Mid bass, mids and highs are very tight and crisp.
The factory amplification system is Boston Acoustics (420Watts):
Qty 3 3 1/2" MR/Tweets - each corner and centre of the dash.
Qty 2 6x9 LF woofs in each door.
Qty 2 6x9 full range speakers in the rear corners on parcel shelf.
Qty 1 8" sub in the rear parcel shelf.
I found the pictured Denon piece in a box in the back. It was tossed in during another local buy of some XMax12's and other stuff. This Denon allows for both high and low impedance inputs. The low side will accept a signal up to 8 volts, with both input and output level controls and seperate high and low output Eq.
For shits and giggles, I'm going to install this Denon unit and route the factory sub output into the low impedance inputs (both L&R) and take the output to an LPL controlled Tantrum 500.2 (bridged) to the triple BA 10.5LF sub box I've already constructed.
Standby for results. I should RTA before and after......right?

Wow! That's a waaaay cool piece, especially for it's age. The modular design is nifty.
Using an RTA will be helpful but unfortunately you're not going to get it perfect. The problem with your ride, and many other oem systems, is that the factory eq'ing isn't a set level. What I mean is: The higher the system is turned up, the more and more the low frequency is cut. So if you were to boost the low frequency to make up for it, you're going to find that the "bass" is too aggressive at lower volumes. This is exactly why so many companies have come out with "oem integration" processors. These are still eq's, but they work a little different than typical eq's. The integration pieces analyze the signal at one paricular volume level, and when that's done the factory radio needs to be kept at that specific level or the analyzed signal is pointless. This is also why the integration pieces have their own volume control.
Not saying don't try this, but you are going to be limited with the eq'ing. Good luck either way
