My New Ride...

Hey guys long time no speak! Been super busy with life, you know how that is...
Anyway, my wife & I found a spot in our budget in which I could finally procure a 4runner!
After searching far & wide I found the perfect one to match our price & my requirements.

2000 V6 2WD Limited Toyota Phorunner!!!

I'm hoping to get my 1200.1Ti back from Altser (he may be replacing MoBo) in which case I'll put my Ti12D in. I also now work at a CNC shop where I may be able to have some custom parts designed & created for the build!

I still have two BNIB Titanium comp speaks (CS not elite) which I may put in & run off of either my 500.4Ti or if I can locate the first elite drivers & midbass I'd love to put a 3-way in there :D

Also considering putting the MS1000 in. Maybe a custom brace attached to inside of lift gate with a fiberglassed bezel to mimic the stock paneling. I think I'd have to put in stronger hydraulics to support the weight and assist when lifting it open. The subies all back to stock & waiting for someone to grab her off CL.

If you guys have seen any cool 4runner installs I'd like any links to help inspire me. She's alright sounding now as the previouse owner had Rockfords put in along with a 10"sub & amp...

Hope everyone's been lovin' life!!!

Wrenn

Get to work is an understatement...

I've been promoted at my new job to machine shop superintendent/coordinator & I'm so busy it leaves me spinning!
I'll have weekends to start install though...

First things first, 0G big 3, put my red/yellowtops under hood with my sweeet PG isolator (Thanks TTocs  ) & Deadlining the doors...

From there I plan on pulling apart the interior (carefully!) & soundproofing the rest.

Gonna do this beeottch right the first time baby!!!!!! 8)

Nice Wren,
Shit man, your lucky you didn't lose your finger. I bet you almost shit your pants, lol.

Do you just have the one batt terminal? I'm looking for a couple more for my batts to hook up the one amp.

Sorry to see the ouchie, I've done that before. Now I take the wedding ring off when working around electricity (every day at work).

Progress seems slow but well done. Keep it coming.

I've made the mistake of rushing thru installs before & usually regretted the results or came back to change/modify things. I wanna take it slow with Silvia here so I don't miss anything & do it exactly how I want, & do it right. Car audio for me is a fantastic hobby that gives me pleasure as well as something that makes me proud everyday on my commute.
(Love to show it off to friends as well!)

Got some free time, so I'm making the battery housing. I took an old tower case & cut it to form for my red & yellow tops. Recycle!

Hey man sweet 4runner!

Here's a link to my first real build I did way back in 07 I belive. its a 98 T4R SR5.

http://www.phoenixphorum.com/viewtopic.php?t=10941

Also Im a member on this site http://www.toyota-4runner.org/

Once you become a member on their you will be hooked! The site is just as good as this site but for T4R's. Lots of info for repairing and modifying them.

There's even a tutorial how to upgrade the alternator to a 130amp.

I have a bunch of updated photos on my 98 (3rd gen) T4R I just completed a couple weeks ago I need to post. Youll see it soon, Im sure you like it. BTW I have an 08 ed T4R also with the 4.7ltr V8, its a beast!

You will love your T4R once you get one youll never like anything else. Keep up the great work and if you have any questions about you T4R hit me up, there's almost nothing I have done engine, chasis, body, and stereo wise to mine!

Well, I got my elite 9 & 5's yesterday! Thanks again Ttocs!

I will be putting the 9's in the front doors & fabricating kicks for the 5's. I will be trying to emulate kinda what Jeri did in his doors to make space for them but keep a mostly stock look. I'd like to find some extra panels at a junkyard to alert but not sure if I will. So after I've fiber glassed & sanded, do I just paint the panel? Any sealer or anything so it won't peel?

My wife told me it was time & money that could be spent with family...but a man needs a hobby! Plus I do involve my kids when I'm building...anyway...Thanks in advance!

you will love them I am sure.

I missed your battery update. Its really not recommended to mix different types of batteries even with an isolator as the different charge/discharge abilities of the batteries can cause problems.

I've read conflicting threads on the battery issue.

I'll get those 9's in the doors alright! I'll post pics as I do it as well!
