I always wanted one of those in HS. I drove a 4 cyl mustang. The insurance on the Probe GT was $500 a month. Needless to say I had to stay with my 4 cyl.

I'm pretty sure that's the same engine as the MAZDA 6 and 626 pretty indestructible- Waaay better than the ford made engines of that era.

I thought it was the Mazda rx7 rotary engine that was indestructible.

Those amps look nice. The car is cool it should pound with the hatchback and a ported box. I like that year of the probe the best my mom had one of the older ones when I was a kid. Whats up with the hood pins?

Yea, I'd deff replace that hood. Rough the paint up with sandpaper and get a "Maco Special" in the original color.

Is that the V6 from the Taurus? I didn't think chains needed replacement, just adjustments every 100k or so.

gotta love how a sub in a hatch sounds. My 97 ranger has the 3.0 v6 and I have never had an issue out of it myself. Prior to that I had a 91 ranger with a 2.3 and while it was reliable it left you downshifting on even the smallest hill if you were in 5th. The 3.0 never had that issue and it was good while pulling a trailer too.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

My uncle has a '93 Ranger with 500k on the clock. I think it's the 3.0 V6. Still on the stock 4 speed manual. I think he's put a couple of clutches in it, and that's about it.

Those v6's all of the fords from late 80's to late 90's were all good solid work horses, hence part of the reason i got this, well price and gas, i needed something quick (speed), cheap and good on gas for a dd, my 4runners eat up gas!

I have been hesitant to sell my truck for the past 2 years even though I have not been using it. I mean the last year along I have literally not done anything to it. I didn't want to sell it because I was still hoping that I could possibly one day return to mountain biking and it was set up for that perfectly. I came to the realization that its not going to happen and have a friend that happens to be in need. I spent this weekend cleaning it out and by that I mean removing 17 yrs worth of accumulated electrical projects. Literally spent most of it ,"WTF is this wire/relay?!" and then tracing that wire and removing it. But the truck has only ran a handful of times in the past 5 years, put a new battery in it a little antifreeze and checked the oil and it cranked right over with no hesitation or smoke and drives just like it ever did. Relived a lot of memories while cleaning it everything from the day I bought it to helping a friend move to NY city(and getting a blown tire on the Brooklyn queens expressway) to it dragging all my stuff back from az when I moved back to Indiana. Its been a great truck and I am sure that it will continue to be with my friend.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
