Hi, just thought I would share my install progress. I've only got pictures of my trunk as of right now. I will post more pictures as I get more things done.

Thanks.

Yeah, that was my sub box that I had before that was going to house some 10's, but my angle on the front was not as flush as I wanted it when I folded the back seats down :( Also I'm going to extend the back side out to where it's more flush with the contour of the trunk also.

Basically that's just in there right now to see how much of an angle I need to fix my new sub box which I plan building here soon. More than likely I'll probably go with the new IDQ subs by Image Dynamics just to keep the speakers the same.

I've heard the RSD's sound pretty darn good from a few people on some forums though.

Once it warms up again i'm going to get back to work on the trunk and then start applying some type of deadliner in my doors.

My god man, have you been storing those amps in hermetically sealed bags? They are GORGEOUS.

:)

94-95 they were in my Corolla's trunk with mdf board covering them so I could use my trunk. From 99 - 2002 or so they were in boxes. Then from 2003- now they were stored in the amp boxes you see now which were in plastic bags pretty much.

Now i'm trying to decide if I want to use plexiglass for the tops of each amp box and not use a board to cover my trunk or get a thin piece of plexiglass for the boxes and use about 1/4 or 1/2 board to cover them so I can make it look stealth and still use my trunk.

PLEXI!!! Why hide such gorgeous amps?

Just make sure you have proper ventilation for them.

That's what I was thinking as well. I would love to do away with the board on top and use some thick plexi for the boxes. I know they will need to be vented, but i've not had to make sure my amps were really vented until now though.

Shouldn't be hard should it?

Nope... not hard at all. Hell, my local hardware stores sell thick sheets of Lexan and/or Lucite that could cover your trunk for about $50-100 depending on thickness. All you would need to do is give each "enclosure" an inlet and outlet fan for ideal results. Looking at your boxes, I would encourage you to check out "crossflow" style fans.

That's interesting for sure. What would you suggest for a thickness for the plexi, 3/8" ? I do think i'll go that route instead of using a board with carpet to cover the area instead. It will just look much nicer I think with the plexi.

You think 1 big sheet of plexi or 3 smaller ones to just cover the boxes? Everything is level or should be anyway in the trunk.

I'll check those fans out you suggested also.

Thickness shouldn't be a huge concern with your setup, as you would have lots of support from the bottom to hold it up. 3/8" would probably be excessive... you'd be amazed at what a thin sheet can do when properly supported.

As for one big sheet or multiple small ones, that's pretty much up to what you prefer, or what you can find at the store. One big piece will probably cost less than three small ones however, and you can always cut it to three pieces if you like :)

That's a good point Brandon. This would be an excellent opportunity to mount them upside down and REALLY show them off

True, they would look good that way. I'll have to flip them and take a couple of pics and post them in the next day or so :)

Couple more pics from a few days ago. Whe I started these I thought about having them painted a titanium/chrome finish look and have the plexi underneath it. Not sure right now really how I want to do it or even use these or not.

Those were not glued together yet as you can see there are a few of the boards that are not aligned correctly. All the frames have been glued together and fit nicely, but I didn't take any pics last night though.
