Of course there's no real gain... just like techflexed and heatshrunk cables. If you're going to do all that extra work making things tidy, having frayed copper visible at the terminals seems out of place.

All of my speaker terminals (including those on the speakers themselves) have gold Stinger spades which have black and red booties to go over them. Makes the polarity really obvious and gives a nice finished look to the whole install. The terminals in my doors don't appear to have aged a day, while all the screws on my Elite's are completely rusted. They were really cheap too...

The problem was finding small enough spades.

Here are the Kicks with bondo and primer. I will start wrapping them in the Alcantara Leather tonight and hopefully drop them in tomorrow.

I know its too late but why did you use green tech flex for the right speakers? green is always left in car audio. I always remember this because money is green and I never have any left. lol
Check my buyer/seller ratings http://phoenixphorum.com/gridracer-vt4548.html

I have more PG stuff than one guy ever needs.

I'm learning that right now....I can't get glue to stick....I am open to all ideas?? Is there a better material I should use?? I don't want carpet.
Is there any high strength glue someone can recommend?

i suggest a feux suede flocking. you spray the whole thing down with a adhesive cover in the flocking and then let the excess fall off

I looked around and I don't really like the flocking very much. Though i haven't seen it up close. I ended up using 3m 90 spray. I started over last night and it seems to be working VERY SLOWLY. I got about half of one done. I had to spray both the kick and alcantara first. After I sprayed it I let it dry and then put it toegther. Since I bought real alcantara, it does have a little flexibility to curve around the contours. I will get some pics up shortly of everything.

I welcome any and all advice.

Starting to work on the vehicle again....some long awaited changes....

has anyone worked with aluminum? I'm going to be cutting some rings and then need to polish them. What is the best way to polish? Any advice for cutting aluminum?

Aluminum isn't too awefully hard to work with. Although it really requires a router table for the best results. It's all about making jigs. Do you have a router table?

Ooh I missed the finished product. Man those kicks turned out great! I cant help but wonder how that would have looked with a lighter color of alcantara (matching the carpets), although the dark shade blends in with the speaker and the door better.

Kudos! Nice work! How does it sound?

Thanks. They sound pretty amazing. I thought about different colors and/or matching the floor but if you would see my whole interior they fit the look very well.

That's a good point. I can visualize with your head at eye level, that they would definitely blend in to the lower dash.

Took my car to the local Infiniti dealership to look at my AC system and they totaled my car while it was there.

No more install.
