Other uses for sound deadener?

Post by Thumper88 »

Has anyone used car audio sound deadening products in there house?
One example is the heating/cooling duct right next to my MFW-15 was giving off some really bad vibes (rattling tin sound). So I took the register off and laid down a couple layers of second skin damplifier pro I had on hand.
Problem solved. Only thing to do now is put it on the windows...

There are some audiophile "tweaker" companies that make discs you can stick on windows and walls, etc. to control these vibrations and rattles. I would be afraid how much they would want for them....but you could probably use some small circles of the d. pro with success. Just have to find a way to make it look "nice"....unless you do not care how it looks as long as it works.

People often use the stuff on stainless kitchen sinks too. :)
