Why would he need a processor? Harmon Kardon AVR-645 is the processor...7.1ch preout.

Here's another option:

Few things I have learned about Adcom since I started researching home audio stuff. I know the brand name is strong but Im a bit scared of em.

1. They do not do any of thier own customer support, they have deligated that job to thier one US distributer

2. long time since they have updated thier technology

3. hard to find an authorized dealer

That Adcom looks like a prosumer level device. The cooling fans may be noisy and the amp would have to be in a separate room .....

HH
The only stupid question is the one not asked .......

gridracer wrote:definately cheap enough but then you also need some sort of processor as it looks bare with no goodies plus you would have to buy a 20 amp breaker as it says it needs dedicated 20 amps AC to run and most houses have 15 amp breakers not a big deal but will add to the price finding a 7 channel processor with all the bells and whistles might be hard and cost a few bucks too.
I would personally get the top of the line onkyo it's like 145x9 I think it is 9.2 and has everything thing you would ever need for home theater I think.
i went in and don't like the onkyo vs the denon sound in the higher model
maybe its just me but i didn't like it

I would try and find a used Rotel RMB-1077. It has plenty of power, sounds awesome, and runs cool, and is small.

$1800 MSRP .. Dunno how much street price is. My local dealer is a high end shop and dont want to bug them untill Im ready to buy.

If you didnt know Integra is Onkyo's high end line, Marantz is Denon's high end or atleast Marantz and Denon have same parent company.

Yes, Rotel is another solid choice.

Check out Audio Controls new home audio amps. Nice looking stuff but expensive.

I have a friend who uses this amplifier in his home theater and loves it. I've watched Bourne Supremecy on his system and was very impressed at the clean power output. this is right up your alley when it comes to price as well as power. And they look friggin killer. Check out the build quality. Awesome, especially for a $699 amplifier. Give it a look and read some reviews.
