About freaking time...but I think this will fit my needs perfectly.

So my source will be a LCD 32" TV (still need to find a good value unit there), xbox360 optically, and laptop digitally going to M-audio solo going digitally via coaxil to the receiver.

The receiver which I already have is Denon 2808ci.

For the fronts I will be using these...

they seem to be one hell of a bang for the buck, and much better then anything that I could ever get from buying pre-finished units.
I would prefer to use these but for where the speakers are goign these are just to freaking huge..

The centers will match the fronts

For the rears I wanted something small and cheap but match the timber on the other units...these should do it decently..

For the Sub I am using a Bash 500watt plate amp and Aura NS15 ported

Only thing left to decide will be what 3 channel amp to use. I really dont want two amps to take up more space honestly. Rather have all in one unit, any suggestions here?

Otherwise Im really excited for this project...

bdubs , i might be missing something here man, but why are u lookin for an extra 3-ch amp for ? doesnt the denon do 7-ch ? :hmm:

on the rear speakers, unless they are build with the same components as the fronts and the centre , it would be a little difficult to match them in timbre. timber yes..... timbre no.....

The best way is to get the speakers from the same line as the others . When u have timbre mismatch , the surround transition and sound steering from the front to rear or the rear to front would sound " different" acoustically as its being produced by speakers of complete different tonal character. This is the reason most home cinema packages are sold with speakers from the same line.

Or u could just not worry bout the timbre and enjoy the surround magic as the sound separation would still be brilliant since it being processed by the excellent decoders in the denon receiver.. especially with the dts.... sounds just too good...

by da way , some tips on telly, i might be gettin one soon and all the reviews and multiple visits to nearly all the big av chains here in canberra lead me to this particular panasonic. Its the new 32" lcd with 100Hz and called the D series here. It has won numerous awards locally and was the best premium 32" lcd tv in what hi-fi awards, beating even the new sony bravia 100Hz model in terms of off air picture quality and overall dvd,hd quality.
Its a little expensive though ( around AUD1400 ) , and we can get a 42" plasma fer the same price here ... :D
Another cheaper option would be the samsung 32" .Also an excellent model to check out.

the only way i can see why u would go for an extra 3ch is if ur goin for a full blown THX spec.... 9 ch with an external processor ..is this what u have in mind :P
For more power....plain and simple.

Well it will be decently close due to the fact their both metal cones....I know it wont be exact, but I was try to match cone material. I think we all can agree metal cones would match better then metal and paper. I just want somethign small in the rear and these seem to be a good fit w/ decent sound.

ur goin for a heavy system all rite :D ....most ppl will find denon's 110watts to be adequate in normal listening area...

This looks like a good buy but its 5ch and needs 4ohms speakers for 220watts bridged .If the speakers are bi-wirable then u could bi-amp them for some crazy power. They used to make 3-ch but cant find one at the moment.

Have a rotel 60 watt stereo amp and it has ample power to drive my inefficient 86db home speakers with ease compared to the 140w kenwood receiver . Again we're proved numbers don't tell the entire story.

More than 110 watts? In a home? Are you mad?

I can barely drive mine past 20...

Anthem makes a reasonably priced 3 channel amps with plenty of power. http://www.anthemav.com/NewSitev2.0/Ant ... Specs.html I have the MCA 20 and it sounds really nice.

Does that dennon have pre-amp outs?

As for the TV. Sony makes a nice 32 inch TV that was pretty cheap. It is the M series.
