PS3 is an amazing blue ray player, no need for anything else. It is also an amazing dvd player as it upscales to 1080p.

None of them have good load times. :) I have installed lots of different ones, but my fav for picture quality are the Denon models. Although my complaint with them is no ethernet port for live updates. You would have to request a disc from tech. support if you wanted any firmware updates.

The Pioneer Elites are very nice as well. Not as impressed with the LG dual format players. But if you have a collection of HDDVD it would be nice to have a single player.

Integra just released a BD player and hopefully it will live up to the greatness of their other products.

I need to find myself a PS3... pity those cocksuckers stopped supporting PS2 games (even in the 80gb version), so I have to play inflated hoarder prices to get an older 80 or 60gb one. *sigh*

When and where did you buy them? Apparently anything sold after the Metal Gear bundle does not support it. This month they got rid of the 40gb and are just selling an 80gb for $400, which no longer supports PS2 games.

So basically any PS3 with 4 USB ports will work on PS2 games. The newest 80gb and 160gb do not.

Here's a dumb question but..... those x264 videos I see on torrent sites.... do I need a Blue ray player to watch those or will a generic DVD player work ? I have an Oppo 981 ( I think that's the model), it plays nearly any format you find online.

Good choice on the Samsung 1500. For overall price, performance and value it is the one to get.

The PS3 is another great choice.

Always double check the settings in the set-up menus that best suites your set-up/tv etc.

Order cancelled due to long delivery time.
Went to the shop to get the Panasonic BD35.
Don't need the new format decoding.
The onkyo 905 does the work.

What new format of decoding are you speaking of?
