Pioneer DVD player. Needs an upgrade, thinking Blue Ray. :o

xBox 1, modded

Yamaha RX-V659 AV receiver. Running in 6.1 mode currently. iPod dock.

Paradigm Monitor 5 mains

Paradigm CC-360 center

Some rear and surrounds that are from my GF's system, Athena are the brand.

Kenwood ported 10" sub, looking for a good stand alone amp without costing an arm and a leg, to run a pair of Xenon 12" subs. ;)

Sounds very good in my home theatre set-up, I have a JVC TV right now, need upgrade to an LCD big screen.

At the moment this is my home install. I only have one major problem!!
All this is installed in our flat on the second floor. The neighbourgs hate me, and I don't know why???

Onkyo TX-NR905 amp
All Klipsch speakers:
Front: RF83
Rear: RS62
Center: RC64
Sub: RT12d
All wirings: Ixos

WTB: blu ray (sony 550, Panasonic BD55 or PS3)
Still have a CRT TV that needs to be replaced next year.

Being an installer, I couldnt help but use some car audio in my home audio system too

Panasonic 50" 1080p plasma on the wall with all the wires hidden
Stereo rack on the other side of the room holding the....
Onkyo TX-SR804 w/HDMI switching
Dish network HD DVR w/HDMI
Sony DVD with 1080i upscale and HDMI
Yamaha - an old amp to power my sub
PureAv with battery backup

JL Audio XR650-CXi speakers....one pair at every location, with custom enclosures built into the walls....14 6.5" speakers total :D

JL Audio 8W7 sub in a custom built slot ported inclosure

Im VERY happy with the way it sounds! Even with the sub turned off, all the 6.5"s still shake the house crossed over at 60Hz....then the sub just makes it that much better! :D

All I want now is a new Blue Ray player lol

Ohh.. You guys have so much gear I never have heard of...

I am a plain guy, who likes plain and simple home set-up... I stick to the pieces I know play my music the way I like it...

I just would have changed the rear speakers, but I do not know what I should go for...

TV: Samsung 50" full HD 1080p
Multimedia PC
DVD/Blue-ray: Have not decided which one to buy yet... I would prefer the blue ray from Samsung, but I am leaning towards the new Pioneer..

Front: Cerwin Vega CLSC-215
Center: Paradigm CC-300
Rear: Dali 106
Sub: Cerwin Vega CLS-15S (Active - first version, with 400W amp, instead of the newer mods, with only 200W)

pre-amp: Nad T163 Digital, Surround
Front: 2 x Nad 218 bridged.. (EDIT 07.02.09 - just got the second within my doors)
Center: Nad 912
Rear: Nad 2700

Adding an "old" picture here, which was taken the day I cleaned out the old Sony stuff (DVD, MD, CD-players) and the Pioneer 300+1 CD-player from the rack.. So it is almost empty in the stereo rack

Some old and some new... ready for movies, not so much for two-channel listening although it works for me.

Denon 5700 (ready for something to switch my HDMI stuff around when something makes the grade)
Toshiba HD-XA2 (not ready for a stand alone BD yet, they're just now catching up to what HD-DVD on release day)
XBOX-360 (gaming in HD and media streaming, love the games!) Will get a PS3 or BD player sooner or later
HP 5880n 58" DLP rear screen projector (nice picture maybe ready for a Kuro 60" Plasma)
Aerial Acoustics LR5's, CC3B, SR3's and a pair of 7b's (I'd put them up against almost anything I've heard and that's alot of speakers)
Sunfire TrueSub II (looking at a JL Audio Phantom 113 or Aerial SW-12)
Comcast DVR

Image

Image

10,000 MP3's @ 256VBR for playback archived in FLAC. The purpose for the MP3's is for Ipod compatibility as I've got an Alpine IDA-X305 on order and I want the album art and burrbrown DAC playback off a 120GB Ipod in my car. Two pullouts in cabinets look like so...

Image

I think that sums up most of my home audio gear. I have an old set of Reference Kef 105.3's boxed up in my attic... someday my kids will appreciate them I think.

Here's my setup... nothing special.

- Samsung 40" Plasma
- Paradigm Monitor 5's
- Peerless XLS + Passive radiator + BASH 500w in 2cuft
- Knuconceptz Karma RCAs and bi-wired 12 gauge
- Audiosource Preamp/Tuner Two
- Audiosource Amp Seven T Prototype
- Audiosource EQ8
- PS3
- Samsung VCR/DVD
- APC surge and battery backup for cable modem and wireless router

Hooked up the laptop to play through DVI on the TV, and have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so I can play games or watch my downloaded vids on the big screen :)

Also have an Airport Express so music can be streamed to the stereo from anywhere in the house.

Update worth mentioning..... other speakers
These KlIPSCH LA SCALA's full hornsystems have a efficiency of 105Db/1w/1m.....
meaning that 2x 10 real Watts RMS can drive you and the neighbours crazy  .
Low end is restricted, but boy; do they make up for that with a overall livelyness, like "beeing there".
They are connected to one of my MS2125's and they sound better then I've ever heard in all my years of playing with high-grade [high-end] audio gear.
Since they are back in my posession again, [bought them about 20 years ago, and lent them to my father-in-law],I find myself playing every CD again in my collection. :D
If you ever get the chance to listen to a pair of these; do it!

Sweet systems.

I like your old Klipsh La Scala's nico. That's the 1st time I've seen car audio amps driving a living room or any room indoors besides a bedroom. Waas this done because you had amps laying around or for audio reasons?

Love the Linn and Bowers & Wilkins stuff. I almost went with Paradigm but fell in love with Aerial when I finally locaated a retailer. My 1st targeted speaker upgrade 10 years ago was def-techs... their ads and reviews were just so convincing. Never did give them a fair audition however.

Keep the systems coming.

Ill have to get some pictures of my Maggies soon. They were freshly rewired but I need some new cloth and paint to make them black.

Figure I might as well add mine. Left my camera at work, so you guys have to deal with shitty pics for now.

Panasonic 42" plasma
Magnepans up front
AV-123 XLS center
Kenwood vr-3080 (soon to be Emotiva separates)
KBR cables
Crappy DVD player (PS3 coming soon thanks to a price drop!)
Linksys music bridge (its awesome once you get it set up)

Soon to be adding stereo Xenon 12" behind each mag for lower bottom end.

I will also have to get some pics of my brothers new Salks. Those things are amazing, but my god do they weigh a shit ton (~130 lbs each). He's going to be upgrading to BAT amps, so hopefully I can get his odyssey's pretty cheap.

My previous system was my best, but alas also huge (and ugly according to the girly)

TEAC VRDS transport
Benchmark DAC1
Bryston BP25 pre
Bryston 7B SST PRO (x2)
PMC IB2

The new system is very compact and good looking yet sounds virtually as good, although quieter

Primare transport
Benchmark DAC1
Flying Mole mono blocks
Dynaudio Focus
Peerless 12" sub
