Audio software

I just bought part of my brothers Christmas's present which is a software package that includes drum beats and samples produced by jimmy chamberlain (smashing pumpkins drummer, VERY talented guy)

can you guys recommend some audio software that he can use to loop and manipulate these files?

they are wav and rex2 files

Mac or PC?

There's everything from Cubase to CoolEdit to GarageBand to... whatever. Depends on the complexity.

he has never done anything like this before so preferable something simple.

Sonic Foundry had a product called Sound Forge which is really nice for doing pretty much anything audio. Its a pretty professional product though. I believe that Sony owns it now.
