Audio Source AST series speakers

Post by Bfowler »

where would these be rated in the grand scheme of speakers?

my dad is running M&K SURROUND-550 MK II THX SELECT series all around

how would they compare. i ask because a friend's father is looking to do a fairly high end system and i don't want to suggest the AST if it will fall short of his expectations
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"
i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...

I personally think the AST's image far better than many more expensive speakers I have heard.

You typically can not compare a MTM studio profile to most home speakers very well as it provides a very balanced sound and usually images far better.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Pair it with a nice sub and I think you may have a pretty bitchin system. Just make sure you tame the hell outa whatever room your installing in.

For versatility, value and performance the AST has the upper hand. You can even use it as a center channel if the application calls for it in the future.

Also a great look into any decor'.

I own the CARVER branded center and sub (piano black gloss) myself.

GoodLuck. :D
