Yep that's still a GM... Holden DI 2.8 V6, turbocharged by Saab (same as 9-3 Aero). Epsilon II chassis with available Haldex 4th gen AWD. Should be a dope car. :D

Would have been nice if GM released it years ago, as planned, instead of starving Saab's R&D department to improve on their own shit. As part of the deal with Koenigsegg though, they get to use the Epsilon II chassis and all the GM technology for free, pretty much.

We'll see if GM decides to keep them, sell them to China, or shut them down like Saturn...

I saw this coming from a mile away though. Koenigsegg was too small.

This car is already seeing production, along with the new 9-4x. I would be satisfied if they rolled those models out to recoup some investment cost. Last hurrah car like the Pontiac G8 maybe

That car looks pretty cool. I like the turbocharged idea.

I saw a pretty damn new looking 9-5 today, but I suspect it was one of the before koenigsegg was interested. Looked pretty nice.

:hurr: :hurr:

Saab was rescued by Spyker, the Dutch supercar manufacturer. With a Dutch/Swedish car company, I don't think I can ever drive another brand

Here's a cool interview with Jan Åke Jonsson and Victor Muller:

Tough times ahead for the brand, but I certainly hope for the best! It sounds like their new leadership is very interested in making the best of them.

Haha... yeah right, the new 9-5's will be in the $65k CAD range...

Nope, I am forever condemned to buying these cars 10 years in the future, unless they decide to build the more economical 9-1 prototype they made.

Gm wonders why SAAB does poorly? That car is not worth close to $65000! Plus SAAB's look like crap IMO they are getting better but still don't appeal to me.

My understanding of the deal though, is that spyker was more interested in the loans it was able to get from the swedes for buying saab than it is in saab itself..

....and I completely agree, atleast in the states, none of saabs models are even close to competitive in their class.. AND i'm one of the few people I know who dont find them absolutely appalling.
I'm afraid of widths.

no offense Tom, but it looks like a sedan version of the Nissan Murano. I dont like the looks of most SAABs, but Ive seen Toms in person and it isnt half bad, its probably the nicest SAAB series ive seen. Most of the actual looks of SAAB makes me want to puke.

You're not alone in thinking that. That is why you don't see them all over the place its a certain few that like them.
