THE STINGER alive again
THE STINGER alive again
After almost 3 month Doc Stinger´s Drag Racing Team proudly announces that "The Stinger" is alive again. In the last race we competed in we had a real bad backfire coused by the failure of our self build blower manifold. The backfire destroyed the manifold, all the intake valves and most severe the valve seats in the cylinder heads. Due to financial and time reasons it took us until yesterday to get all the parts together. Overall damage cost was 5000USD for 16 brandnew valves with springs and everything, repairs done to the head, and a Indy intake manifold we ordered at Koffel´s. We finished the car a few hours ago and started it for the first time in 3 month. That means we will make it to the season closer at Meidl Airport in Hungary this year

Nope! My friend bought the chassis without drivetrain for 9000GBP in England. Another 1000eur for getting it over to Austria. The engine with transmission made it up to 27500eur with all the needed parts. Count another 7500eur for all the other stuff like paintjob, graphics, tires, gas tank and all the small crap..... That makes it a total of around 45000eur which is exactly 57 955,5 US-Dollar by todays exchange rate.

We are looking forward to make our first full 1/4mile run this time! We now eliminated 3 weak links in the chain at once. The valve springs were replaced by new and stronger ones, the self build intake manifold has been replaced by a INDY intake manifold and the ratio from blower RPM´s to crankshaft RPM´s is now at 0% and not 20% over

smaller SC pulley = faster rotation of the screws = more air foced into the engine = more power... or a horrible lean condition that will blow the motor ... not that I know that from personal experience.stipud wrote:So you reduced the supercharger pulley size? Less boost is less power right? I guess if it keeps you from blowing the intake again then it's all good!

That´s right u got em backwards. We have a bigger pulley on the supercharger now. 5 teeth more then the other had.stipud wrote:Right I got the pullies backwards.
And we bougth an intake from INDY now. It´s not a selfbuild one anymore.
Yes it is!oldschoolfan wrote:Is that the Charuda in the background?
