I was driving my Charger yesterday when i noticed a ticking noise that came from the engine. I wanted to turn arround and drive to my friends shop so he could check it real quick. Didn´t make it that far when the noise got worse and suddenly boooom

The engine was still running but missing at least one cylinder. :( I drove the car the last mile to my friends shop and took the engine apart today.

One the pic´s below u can see what i found. Took me 4 hours and 200USD to get it repaired. :(

What on earth would cause that? Did the valve hit the piston?

I´m switchin to rollers next Spring. Only few more days until snow sets in here ttocs.

And the initial proplem was a lifter failure on the exhaust valve. That´s why replaced the Edelbrock ones with Comp Cams now.

I have comp cams 1.6 roller rockers on my 5.7 in my jimmy I would never go back to stamped rockers on anything, even the stock rockers in my 97 jimmy were rollers.Hope everything is all fixed good now.

suprised with everything you put in it that you did not go for them already. I have a set of trickflow heads I got on sale last year (NIB), I think I finally found a good deal on the cam and now I am looking for the RR to complete the head before I install them.
