This car has battery-power...

Post by nico boom »

TESLA.
Fully electrical sportscar, 0- 100Km/hr in 3,9 sec.
I drove this thing today and it was...unreal. This thing makes no sound but accelerates with full torque from any given speed. It handles like a go-kart, yet one with electric powersteering and airconditioning. It charges in 3 hours, brakes with a alternator [charging the battery while doing so] and you rarely have to use the actual [normal] disc-brakes when in normal traffic.
Beats Porches and Ferrari's at the sprint; it has full torque from "idle" [so-to-speak]....and doesn't need to change gears.....
Sensational drive, only downside; nobody hears you coming racing down the road.
At 110.000 euro's a nice big-boys-toy 8)

yea they are neat but they are not cheap. have you ever seen the electric dragster? All you hear is the tires screaming when it takes off.

Yeah I think Tesla is the first company to actually do things right with electrical cars. Of course they had their fair share of issues getting the car out to begin with, but they seem to be very solid now. One day these things will be affordable to the common folk as well!

It's too bad all the batteries weigh so much, because it doesn't handle as well as the Elise it was based on ;)

Definitely a cool car, would love to have one...
The front fans puzzled me....it actually has air conditioning and it's not an option. In addition to passenger comfort, it also cools the batteries down. Nifty.
