Some news from the Charger.
Since i had an egnine breakdown last year, luck struck again a month before my vacation and i finally decided to get rid of the Edelbrock cam and lifters and the oem levers and pushrods.
Before starting the work:
Right after i took the valvecover off i found a similar situation to the damage i had last year.
After i took the carburators with the intake manifold and the valley pan off the engine the whole crap got visible
After i cleaned the to seal surfaces i also changed the oil and all the other necessary liquids
And here are the parts that are in the engine now.
The rest of the pictures will follow soon...

I think you can hammer that rod straight and still use it.

I wanna see u hammering that thing straight again! I tried it and didn´t couldn´t bend it in any way. Gave me a hint of how much force the engine threw on it. The new ones are nitrit hardened chrommolysteel rods 10mm of diameter. I had to buy a 75USD drillbit to get the holes drilled from 5.4mm to 5.7mm so i could press the endtips in after i cut the rods to lenght on a milling machine. Took me a day to get that job done. Actually took me half a day to find a vendor that could provide the drillbit.
