Team Mopargarage Dragracing goes the blown Alcohol Hemi Way

Few of u guys might remember that we competed at Santa Pod Raceway last year with our 500cui cast iron wedge E85 eating motor. During the last run we heard a noise we really didn´t like. Long story short. We found water in our oil pan.
Back home we took the engine apart and found out that the main bearings where cracked and the walls from 3 cylinders had holes in them. We weren´t happy but still able to say that we got 63 passes out of an old 72 cast iron block the last 4 years.
With knowing that there is no way to actually repair the block the hunt for a new engine was on. My friend stumbled over a 426cui blown Arias Hemi over in the UK and after getting all the cash together he drove over there and picked it up.
Last weekend we did a testfit of the engine and voila "The Stinger" is know housing a 2500hp Blown Alcohol Hemi engine.
Our best time last year was an 8.8 @ 151 mph with the old engine. This year we are looking to actually get into the 7.0 to 7.5sec segment. More to come later this year...
Dam with all those ..... that's not even two and a half.

holy ish mang. You know how I requested that camera shot of you driving around in that slow-ass green POS(camparatively speeking to the stinger of course)? Ok forget that I want to see people reaction to the stinger on the street....
I am not sure its ever been asked, are you the driver?

The car belongs to the shop owner where the restoration of my Charger had been done. He´s the driver.
I´m a proud part of the Team!
Here is a video from the track it´self:

that seems like it would be alot to handle but that 2nd angle damn that thing looked nice smooth/straight. I would still need to wipe...... I can remember when I had my sportbike that when I got on it it felt like I was doing little more then hanging on, can't imagine what that thing would feel like.

This track is only prepared until the 1/8 Mile. After that it´s only concrete. Lost alot of time because of that. We are looking forward to get on a fully prepared 1/4 Mile track by mid of May.

that is even more impressive then. I remember you mentioning that there were not any strips close that can handle that thing. Is drag racing almost as popular there as soccer is here? I know that the europeans love almost any kind of racing from go-carts to semi-trucks, just seems like a dragstrip would be one of the easier to set up....

If u would take tenthousand people over here u will probably find 2 within them that know dragracing. That´s how unpopular this sport is over here. That´s why there are no strips arround here. The problem with that sport is that it´s one of the loudest on the planet. And noise is something the older generations can´t stand over here.
The next event will happen on the 13th of may at the Raba Ring in Hungary. This will be a fully prepared track then and we can rule out all the mistakes that happend this weekend.

noise? Good lord any race I have ever been to from the big-winged outlaws to F1 left me and my friends with earplugs in making hand gestures to communicate. At least in drag racing its a few mins at a time rather then hours on end.
See now I wish rally racing was bigger here but we have 3-4 drag strips with in a couple of hours with beach bend raceway in bowling green being equipped for cars like yours. In phoenix we had 2 strips, both top-fuel rated and top-notch places, any semi-big city here has one.

sounds like an automatic to me. How come he doesn't load the converter? I assume the car has a trans brake.
certainly the car must garner a lot of attention in your neck of the woods. definately a unique car for sure.

Fun fact, the car is sold already and the funds went into a new project. More to come in the future...
