Ya didn't have to add the cost of a pair of pants to that bill? Washed out after all? Man that sucks.

Hoooooly shit man, I guess you are lucky it didn't go beyond that! How bad are the burns to your hand?

It´s not that bad at all and i´ll have the Charger back up and running tomorrow. The burns to the hands are minor but that friggin stuff hurts beyond believe when u touch something. It´s no fun at all changing parts with one and a half hand.
I also bought a few more parts i added to the "always on board equipment". A nice fire blanket and a new CO² extinguisher. The old one quit working just yesterday

ya know joerg not long ago I actually bought my first pair of mechanics gloves as they were on sale at home depot. I now remember reading that they are fire resistant and thinking that "well, maybe that would be helpful" but after reading this I might recommend them to you.

I took myself some time to dig deeper into the problem and why the carb cought fire. What cought my attention was that the fire only spread arround the rear outer carb. That´s unusual for a six packk setup. Usally the center carb catches fire in case of a backfiring cylinder.

I started the car again and only watched the rear carb. I immediatly saw that gas was pooring out of the main fuel line right where it connects to the carb. I turned the car off and took the metal fuel line out of the sytem and found a hairline crack. It´s quite scary that such a small thing almost cost me the car.

I´m just waiting for a few spareparts now but should be able to run the car during the upcoming weekend. 8)

I repaired the car already and it´s up´n running again. Since it´s missing a little paint under the hood now i also installed the OEM hood insulation again.

We have a big F&F6 party at our local cinema on thursday the 23rd. They asked me to come but since i still need to finish the hood mood and another 100 things to the car i refuse to go there. I just don´t want to drive the car anymore until everything is finished.

All my focus is tending towards the install of the BMW now and should be done within a few weeks now.
