New console time
I have the Toy ripped apart to start fitting my new console. The old one was just some pieces of MDF wrapped in tweed. It worked but since i have swapped the truck to auto, it looked funny with a shifter sitting there, lol.
I picked up a second gen Blazer console at the wrecker and have glassed over the cup holders, 4wd lever slot and storage pocket. Currently i am looking for some new air guages because the old ones are not backlit and they are impossible to see at night. They will go where the old cup holders were. I will keep the same switches, just a simple front/rear setup.
Looks a mess right now but hopefully the sanding goes well. Its the worst part!

Re: New console time
Here is the body of the console. Fits between my Prelude seats like a glove.
Insert has been fleeced, `glassed, sanded, and bondo`d. Sanded and cheesed again. Its going pretty well.

Took a few days off on account of it SNOWING here. Back at it today though. My air gauges showed up yesterday with a broken face in one of them. Awesome. I think my brother has a few lying around, will check that out this weekend.

Re: New console time
Console is coming along nicely. Have not been able to paint because of rain here the last 2 days. But the holes are cut and fit. Got another pair of gauges. Airlines have all necessary fittings and are taped up. Just need to make the insert attach to the main body of the console. I am taking a tip from ttocs (thanks bud) and am using rivets with the tail cut off for locating pins. They are JB'd into place and setting.
Now if this ear infection would F off, i would feel great.
