The amps have arrived. The UPS guy said a van tried to run him off the road, but ended up in a ditch after they both drove past a playground...

Can't wait to see the review, and Eric's point of view. I know we all love pg, but at least he will be unbiased.

I know some of you guys will probably want to kill me for this, but I am going to look at the S1000.1 before the other. Mainly because IMO it will be a bigger seller, and because it is a very useful little mono amp.

I should stress LITTLE. This thing is small. Partially why I want to test it is to see if it will do 1000W being so small. And I now have the power supply to stress it.

My wife said it is "cute". I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing...

Hmm, it seems my install plans just might change. If this "little" amp is any good, I just might have to get one.

Now I am getting excited!

Check this out, a seal on the box with the quality checks! Pretty nice stuff for an entry level amp.

are they really trying to say that every amp they make will go through a human listening test? I would like to know the details of this test.......

Hell, I have some friends I would not necessarily define as "human" so this test could be a lot of things!

Yes, its an audible listening test on the production line. We have done it since the MS days.

Production worker listens to audio via headphones and adjusts all the potentiometers, switches and does a manual shake/vibration test. To make sure everything is working properly right before it goes in the box.

Of course, this is after the audio precision testing and a whole bunch of other testing procedures.

I could believe it when you were producing ms numbers but until you show pics of asian workers with headphones I am tempted to try and borrow a BS card. EVERY amp? How many are you planning on making?

What would you guys like to see in the way of testing this S1000.1? I want to beat on it some and need suggestions as to how I should go about it.

First I would try with a real sub that can handle the power. Play at full volume, if you/your family can take it, for a long duration. Decrease the voltage slightly as if it were in a car to 12.5 or something and see how it heats up. I would like to see those kind of tests ran first. Then try to do somehtings that dumb people would do, Clip the signal, arc the speaker terminal while play (Scenario - installing a sub while everything is on and playing). See what it would take to blow a fuse or something.....

I am just rambling thoughts at this point.

Well, I have access to a Rockford TRF woofer (12in dual 1.4ohm coils). Rated for I think 2000W RMS. I have seen these subs running on well over 4000W RMS with no issues.

No way I am doing that in my house though. I would put it in a car and see what happens.

Among "real world" testing already suggested, I'd like to see screenshots from your scope :)

Anyone ever have something obvious in front of you, but you never notice it? This S1000.1 is small, really small. I just took my tape measure and checked its dimensions. It is smaller than the JL HD750/1! Now that is impressive!
