most amp have opening to let heat in and out??????
The fan cools the output filters, not the heat sink. BTW: Its impossible to thermal this amp!

The production version the plexi has some venting in the plexi for better airflow.

I think you saw one of the protos, it didn't have this.
ok, just looking at the 2 pics above this post but can't see in either of them cust in the plexi are they both protos? if so how many proto made on top of the 100

Both amp pics in this thread have holes over the fan in the plexi, look closely.

This AMP is a beast plain and simple. I have had it a long time now and haven't had a single problem. Currently she is in my Chevy Astro van with a 300amp H/O alt and 4 kinetik bats to keep her happy. She still makes the voltage drop if i really crank the volume. But she's a beast and demands more power  . This with it running at 2ohm's with an 18"SMD on the receiving end :) . Today for valentines day my girl brought home a DD Z. It's a dual 2 and i cant wait to see what this amp can do at 1ohm. I'll post pick's when i can .. But this is a review thread and IMHO this is the best amp you can get. And might be the last one you ever get. Nothing else can even compare to it..

Took Her to a few competitions but was only able to run her at 2 ohm's. I never had a dual 2ohm sub for her to play with till now . With an Orion HCCA 10" (hooked up at 2ohm's in the trunk of my old Toyota Camry) I did a 145.x .. With the SMD wired at 2ohms I did A 148.x out law . let me look for a pic http://prntscr.com/srzzh .. Hope that picture works.

I have only used this beastly baby vs 1sub at a time . She killed the 10" HCCA in about 35 seconds . Just long enough to get in a score

one sub?! Are you trying to compete in a specific catagory with one sub or just didn't have the space for more? I never imagined anyone would hook it up too a single speaker

I was trying to stay in a specific class A single 10" . The class A record on the Big island of Hawaii belongs to me  .. Ty PG
Now I'm going to go for the class C record for the Island . I will have to hit higher than 153.x to beat the current record holder.
With a dd z and this amp i'm sure i can do it .. maybe :D

The official power rating for that sub on DD's website is "if you really have to ask....", because they didn't have enough power to throw at it supposedly.

There's three possible outcomes from this as I see it.

-We find out if that sub can take the full output of The One, and it's power rating is greater than The One's output.
-We get to learn what the rough power rating of that sub is by when it blows up.
-The electrcial system in your van fails before one of the other two happens.

Not sure where I'm putting my money, but leaning toward option 3. LOL

and video or it never happened :) please....

Also get one of those infa red temp thingys as I would love to know how warm that sub gets. Makes me wish I still had access to the infra-red camera rig we used at intel to make sure the machines were working correctly.

The guy that beat me at sbn 2013 was running 2-15" of these subs. Idk what he was powering them with. Just so happens that he was 2012 world champ in meca m4 division.(159.1dB) good luck on the record man.

The sub was pop corning so i never really hit it with the full power , on daily no way the dd z can handle 8k ... sold the sub and amp though ..
