support for old Ti12D Elite

Post by cyclecamper »

The old Ti12D Elite had a filed-replaceable moving structure. That's why I bought them. Are any replacement parts still going to be available?

Unfortunately there are not any bolt in replacement parts for this driver.

If you have a blown driver, PM me. I may be able to refer you to some other repair options.

No problems now, but I actually have an option to pick up another, and am trying to decide whether to or not.

I am sorry to see that the new ones no longer have this field-replaceable feature. I come from a large outdor concert pro-sound background, and am used to reconing my own drivers. But I also appreciate how some, like JBL long-throw midrange horn drivers, have field-replaceable diaphragm-voicecoil assemblies.

At least butyl rubber surronds don't rot like so many foam ones do.

The Ti Elite was about 3 times the cost of the current Ti, so it just wasn't feasible to make it field repairable although it would be nice.

There are also some patent issues that you have to be very careful of these days if you want to make your woofer field repairable.

PM me if you have any issues.

Was digging through the archives here and found a pair of recone kits for the Titanium 12d elite, I'll dig up a price. PM me if you're in need.

Dave's located in Oregon ...so shipping might be pretty high, but Dave is a great guy to deal with and bought 2 of his Elites a few months back, great f****n' subs.
