Gear question for my 2012 santa fe

Post by kg1961 »

ok so I got my wifes car 2012 Hyundai santa fe done before mine so she would stop bitching
she has mid/tweeter front 90x2 amp and a single 12" AVI sl300 sub in a prefab box off a 460watt rms clarion
amp
It sounds great super clean bass when it need to be im very happy
I have to say I was impressed

So my install same car

I'm doing the front door mid/tweeter clarion sss601 but alot of sound matting
in the trunk i'm going to use 2 pg black glass fuse block matching dd10 and tld66 up front

I have a alpine pdx2150 fronts and a pdx1100 for subs

I have 3 jl 10" tw3 d4 subs I was going to run them 2.67ohm off the amp

Has anyone used these subs in a suv? will two be lots or three? will a bass cube really help my sealed box or don't use it?

1. use 2 or 3 subs off my amp?
2. use a bass cube or not with the small sealed boxes .5 cub each sub?

Im going to flush the back and just have the jl sub grill showing

lmk what you think

I use a cube on sealed boxes. Worst case scenario turn it off...

As for the subs its hard to say what is too much or not enough for you. Maybe you can build the box for 2 and then make a modular 3rd box that you can install/mount next too it if you like it.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

I could do that just wish more people have used the subs
I like jl as a brand always loved there subs I know these are not going to be low end monsters shallow and small box .50 cub so I was hoping the 3 could take the stress off two but on the other hand two is so much easier in my car

two is easier, three is cooler... I know the feeling here as I have 3 rsdc 104's I was going to use but I am considering swapping for a single elite 12

I know they are loud like there w3 but all the work time and not be able to trade something might be a deal breaker. I think I might unload them and get a single mean 12"

don't forget the driver displacement per sub = 0.019 cuft + netto volume = 0.5cuft = GROSS volume = 0.519 cuft for one sub....

http://intl.jlaudio.com/10tw3-d4-car-au ... vers-92184

if you got the space, put in 3 of course......the basscube works great in any system..................

just search the freq where you can boost the best...........

i heard them play before and they sound great......i quess you're girl doesn't want to push the back window out, so..............

but you can never make a bad choice of putting in something out of the jl W7 series.......
