i think it's a device that uses feedback from the sub and then corrects the movement of the sub so it is less distorted but im not sure if that is what it is or not. if thats what it is it would be nice to have but i wouldnt know what its worth. :)

Servo system uses feedback from the speaker to better control the speaker's motion. A negative feedback loop extends to the speaker's positive and negative terminals to reduce speaker movement after a signal stops. By tightly controlling the speaker, Sigma Servo helps prevent muddy sounding bass. Servo raises the amplifier's damping factor to more than 9900, resulting in excellent transient response and lower distortion. Note: The Servo feed back connections MUST be made, or the sound level may fluctuate and noise may be introduced.

Kenwood started building them into there mono and more powerful 2 channel amplifiers quite awhile ago. I do not think they do this anymore, The information above applies to the Blade servo aswell.

Yes I was looking for a Blade Servo many moons ago but that was when I had my 6 channel BASH amp but I do not have it anymore thus no need for it. I

this unit doesn't actually control the sub like a true servo unit does (has no connection to the sub). what you do is input all the parameters/specs of sub/enclosure into the unit via laptop and it does it's magic. the only true servo controlled sub i know of that was ever made for car audio is the Velodyne, the most incredible sub on this planet IMO :)

what ive always found confusing about servo subs is i don't think you can run more than one sub as it only uses feedback from one sub. also some of them i think you have to use their amp or sub so if you want to use a particular amp or sub you could'nt use it i dont know just could'nt see how it would work.

you can use as many subs as you want BUT each sub must have it's own amp and controller, the amp is calibrated to the controller/sub and is part of the feedback loop.. not sure about any other system but velodyne require an amp that plays down to at least 5hz to calibrate so any amp with a built in subsonic filter is a no-no. PG amps are fine, I've had both M and MS series amps calibrated to mine 8)

i guess you can (the blade servo system), as this works merely by inputting parameters into the unit.

Ok sooo the DSP servo was a legal way to cheat in events. So you have your system set of Sound quality+ when the judges are in the car via seat sensors or alarm remote "DSP preset 1", and when they get out SQL+ "DSP preset 2". In a nut shell the DSP could change the way the Woofer saw the box.... Other people had actuators inside the boxes to open ports to do roughly the samething. :D
