Ricky, those photos are not what I have. Mine are black with a gold stripe, not blue. The original caps in question are 2200uF, 16v, 18mm diameter on my boards.
EDIT: This is the closest thing I could find on mouser

Wish I knew what they looked like before I spent $40 bucks on them

Re: A peak inside my nickel MS 1000
Trust me, they are dark blue. Get some better lighting and you will notice they are blue. The originals and the replacements are exactly alike, I've replaced over 100 of them (not only in PG, but in other brands as well ....Zapco).
You will not find EXACT VALUES, as today they can have more capacitance in the same package. The ones you got are 16 8200uf 18mm x 35mm so they should fit. I stick with the 3900uf 25v, I feel much safer using those than the 16v but that's just me.
BTW they look like this...
Here are a variety of voltages and capacitance....same color.

thanks man, that is very helpful. Since you called me out for my eyesight failing, (LOL), I went and got a bright flashlight, and yes, the caps are a very dark blue. Looks like a faded black.

Don't worry, the new ones will be exactly the same color. Just don't get scared when you remove the originals.

John,
You know more than you let on! Good for you attempting to replace the caps, i just don't have the soldering skills necessary to do it.
I have always wondered what it would cost in money and space to transition an amp like this to solid state caps or if that was even possible (like maybe the solid states are not big enough in capacitance yet?).

Re: A peak inside my nickel MS 1000
Question for you John,
On your MS1000, what are the screws that hold the plexi down? Are they pan head, button or? Its hard to tell in these pics. I know the plexi is countersunk a small amount so that tells me the screws should be a flat head style. The ones in mine are button head and just want to know if they are OEM.
On another note, it appears the logo on my plexi is a sticker? Maybe thats why it isnt the same as yours, maybe not OEM. It is stuck to the underside of the plexi.
Thanks, LL

Mine is screen printed, no sticker. The screws are 4-40 Phillips flat head tapered machine screws. They are counter-sunk.

Re: A peak inside my nickel MS 1000
Ok, thats what i thought, mine are not OEM. I will have to get different ones.
I just had a closer look and im pretty sure my logo is screened. There is an edge when you feel it, but i picked at a corner a bit and couldnt get it to lift.
Thanks
LL
