Sq sub opinions

Post by knightrider358 »

Hey guys,

Need some help here.

Side by side comparison which of the subs will have better sq.

Image dynamics idq12v2 or
Eclipse 88120

Please explain why.

I can either seal it or port it. I have a ported rsdc 12" now which has been my fav setup. But i wanna run a sq system in my other car.

Fyi i have the following options to drive the sub, ti600.2, ti400.2, or mtx thunder 4200x (solid blk w gold lettering),

Please any opinions would be great, yall did me right w the rsdc so im all ears.

I have to agree with Mike  , I've ran the IDQ's and IDMAX and they're phenominal subs for SQ and can get very loud when in the right box, tuned and with the right amount of juice to keep'em goin'.

Funny you mention these 2 subs as I'm currently running an idq12v3 and I'm about to go to an eclipse 8812. I don't know which has better SQ yet but I can say that I'm making the change because the Idq didn't have the impact that I hoped for.
A few of these and a few of those.

^^^^ Run an IDMAX with 1000wrms in the recommended sealed enclosure and stand by  ...let's just say it sounds like a 12W7, but with that sweet ID SQ and low-end.

I worked for an ID dealer in the 90s and did more then a few systems with them. They really did have the option to pound like a mofo, or blend in really nice and sweet depending on how they were set up. I can't remember a single customer not liking them.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
