Mid-Bass Drivers

Post by knightrider358 »

Hey guys I was wondering since I have my set-up almost done. I wanna get some mid-bass drivers (play no lower than 80-100hz) since Im using a PG RSD6.5 component set now. What would yall vets recommend for this. Oh they prob either installed in some kickpods or in the doors, if doors (better for air space) then the Rsd's would be installed in the kickpods and used as midrange drivers. Im thinking the midbass drivers in the doors so the mid bass doesnt drown out the midrange since Im using an RSdC 12 in a port slotted box. and Id prob use a ZX350 for the midbass drivers. Oh anyone ever seen a black zx350 like my ZX450. Oh I wanna keep the midbass drivers at a reasonable budget say same quality as the RSD line. Any and all opinions would be much appreciated. Thanx guys

Sounds good but let that "midbass" get down a little lower. Mine are crossed over (bandpass) from 63hz to 125hz and it is great. The lower you can go the better it should be. 80hz is not bad but go a little lower in tuning and see how you like it.

What size? 8 or 6.5?

Either way for true midbass you cant beat the Peerless SLS drivers. The 6.5" is 4 ohm and the 8" is 8 ohm. i think the 6.5's will run you about $100 for the pair and the 8's maybe $110

I have always wanted to do a midbass 8 inch, then 6.5, then tweeter cuz I have heard it kicks ass... But this doesn't look pro... or sexy... just plain... boring... like it would be shitty but I dunno I am not a pro at midbass 8 inchers...
