I'm sad to say it.
I'm sad to say it.
After finding out that the new Ti lines get their numbers at the XX>1% thd I am dissapointed. I had planned to go w/a Ti600.4 and a Ti2500.1, but now I'm not so sure.
The 600.4 would still be OK, It's till in the power range at XX<1% thd for my needs, but it's the 2500 that got me. I need/want 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohms. Here's what their manual states.
"Ti2500.1
Dynamic Power 14.4Vdc >1% THD 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohm
2500 x 1 @ 1 ohm
RMS Power 14.4Vdc ≤ 1% THD 1100 x 1 @ 2 ohm
1650 x 1 @ 1 ohm"
It only does 1100. I don't want to have to run at the XX>1% thd side of things.
I want all of my amps to match this time around and after looking around, mostly just looking up this one guy we ALL know, Zed, I found these.
My desk top hasn't been "fixed" yet so the correct link will nor open right for me to cut/paste the link to show the 2 amps I'm looking at. My Lap top which is what I've been using 95% of the time is having an issue w/the power cord. Where it connects to the computer it wont make solid contact so it wont charge the battery and now I vcan't get it to make contact to even turn the damn thing on, so....

I'm looking at 1 LEVIATHAN
and 2 KRONOS
The LEVIATHON would allow me to eventually go to a fully active 3 way up front if I wish or bridge for more power to mids, 2 way active front end and a comp passive rear for the kids or for 5.1 in car.
The KRONOS would each be gain matched to 1 sub each and set to ~900 watts. I have dual 2 ohm vc subs, so it's either 2 ohms wired series/parellel for the 2500.1 or wired to itself at 4 ohms to each KRONOS.
You have to admit, they look good and are cheap for what they are. I mean come on, they're Zeds.

my 0.5 birth sheet had a rating of 1200 watts rms at .05 THD bridged into four ohms but i also read some where that the zpa are at .0003 THD with just rca level at 4 ohm stereo but who knows for shure.

Yea and at $600 from the source, that's a hell of a deal.
My total would be:
(1) LEV- $599
(2) KRO- $429/ea = $858
Total-----$1457
That right there is a Ti2500 alone.
They are super flexable. And I thought the ZX450 was flexable w/it's xover.... Small footprint too.

But the 2500 stated 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohms which was perfect for what I needed and had more power on tap if things (subs) changed.
The 1200.1 wont do 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohms.
My subs are DVC's at 2 ohms per coil. So you know the math and what I can achieve.
That also means I'd have to go with the 500.4 to match.

Wait a minute , some of the 1200.1s have hit upwards of 1500 rms i believe?smgreen20 wrote:But the 2500 stated 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohms which was perfect for what I needed and had more power on tap if things (subs) changed.

The Tantrum 1200.1 is the only 1200.1 of PG that I know of that has done near the 1500 wrms. Maybe the Titanium 1200.1??
I'm unsure of the Xenon and I don't believe the RSD's made that much power.
I'm looking for something new and I want matching amps for the subs/comps.
