I believe there is a little more to the DD than just letting you turn fans & neons on with it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the whole purpose of the DD was to activate any & all sound processing devices (EQs, line drivers, etc) BEFORE powering up the amps. So when the amps came on line everything else was already raring to go. It just also offered an easy way to power many other devices, and the illuminated fuse panel looks cool and the blown fuse indicators are good to have too.

I would like to see something like the dd5 with a power distro built in, because systems requiring the dd5 are usually not that complex and it would make install a simpler.
A dd10 doesnt need a distro, as several have already said that complex of a system generally means main power distribution & beneficial location for a DD10 are not in the same place.

One thing I think all the DDs were missing is independent on/off timing control. Maybe set numbers to each output, so you can have them turn on in a specific order & turn off in a specific order (instead of timed delays). Same for the amp remote outputs. I think it would be badass to have a row of amps that powered up in a sequential order, & off in the reverse order. Or be able to have amp racks & such light up first, then fire up the components, then fire up the amps. The versatility is almost endless.

Next thing would be make it smaller, and cover the wire connections.
Exposed power wires feeding in is one thing, but the ugliest part of the dd10 is the long row of plugs & wires hanging out. Looked bad if every one wasnt used, and just as bad when every plug was used. But maybe thats just me. I have not seen many DD installs that I thought looked super clean with hidden wiring.

A little insight where the DD5 or DD10 comes from.

DD5 and DD10 was created when mobile video started to become popular.

Installations that have multiple monitors, DVD players, processors, etc. all ended up with a big spaghetti mess of wires and relays tucked behind a panel, that was very unserviceable.

DD5 or DD10 gives you a nice clean way of wiring everything up and easy to troubleshoot.

they have never confirmed that they were going go make them, just that we had bugged them enough to consider it.

I have been moving my dd5 this week and another neat idea occured to me. It would be nice if some of the outputs were switched rather then just on the remote turn on. We already have the 5 delayed outputs but it would be nice if we could select the remote output on the smaller hrns(3 prongs) to be controled by a 12v switched output from the car.

I had a random thought occur to me.....what if they had RLINK connections on them ?

Like 4 - 6 of them

and a button that allowed me to cycle between the amps connected to it, on a digital display

Would be nice

Yeah, bringing back the good old DD5 and DD10 would very nice. Honestly, I would like to place an order for a white custom DD20 or preferably a custom DD30.

If that could be arranged, you guys can consider the order good to go :)

anyone that as ever built a larg system with and with out one has fallen in love with them. So much cleaner and easier/safer. I really with pg would bring back its accesory line and make it all high-end pieces. Stinger is great for the average diy'er but I think there is a market for this stuff as well.

Alot of great ideas...

My idea would be a three part system.

Part one: Rear vehicle Module
Support TWO 0 to 4 Awg wire inputs + FOUR 4 Awg outputs individually fused w/ circut breaker or typical fusing
LED Status lights to display which outlet is on, off or blown fuse/breaker
8 Remote Outputs with 8 second delay potentiometers
Voltage AND Amperage display
This unit can be used as a stand-alone piece

Part Two: Mainly for video systems or small audio systems
Same as above but a VERY small compact design - distro block portion removed.
LED Status lights to display which outlet is on, off or blown fuse
8 Remote Outputs with 8 second delay potentiometers
No voltage meter or fancy design.. Make it a Hide-away unit & save on costs.
Basically old DD5 design

Part Three: Remote Controller
Small LCD display for attached modules for real-time voltage, amperage & current state of outputs.
Connect this module with a data cable to single or multiple modules. Above modules will need a in/out ports
This will allow to turn on/off electronics with a push of a button.

A item that comes to mind that I recently purchased is my Neptune Apex controller for my saltwater fish tank. Here is the photo but of course it will need to be smaller :) It has status icons on the bottom..

I doubt it will make a comeback they asked for input and ideas to revive them and they got alot of ideas but rolled out their 2011 lineup without even a mention of new accessories. They also haven't posted in here about it being considered anymore. Personally I think they would sell great under the PG name without even a re-designed version but I wouldn't bet money on any being made anytime soon.

I think they are a fool for ignoring the fact that they are selling now for more then they did new. There is obviously a demand for them but then again when have I agreed with what pg has done recently?

While they were neat pieces, I dont see the demand of them high enough for them to justify bringing them to the market. I can grab a ditroblock from Knu, they have small ones made for accessories now, and add a delay circiut to it if need be for way cheaper than what PG would offer them for. I like them, but just dont see a high enough demand for them besides a few on the phorum that would buy them.

I agree with scott- I have 2 dd10's, and the second one is just about full- for the most part the average consumer has almost no need for a 5 or a 10- the market is a deck an 4, and maybe a sub box- no real need for such accessory management-, and unfortunately it is the 'average' that drives the market- yes there are still a few individuals that this item would definitely serve, but by and large your talking about 1% of the buying public, and that number may be generous- A facelifted modern 5 or 10 would be awesome, but not likely to occur-
