ZX475ti, XS4600 or Xenon X100.4

Post by Bchester6 »

Only 1 can stay so I gotta pick. Tough decision and I'm really struggling with which one to run fronts and rears.

Thanks bro, long time collector/user of PG products. Like most of you guys on this forum, everyday my setup is subject to change but for today it is the following:

XS4600
Boston Rally tweets
Eclipse SP5710 5x7 (front and rear)
Xenon X400.1
Audiocontrol Overdrive line driver
10" Boston G3 in sealed enclosure (.75 cu ft)

The Xenon X100.4 is BNIB box if that makes a difference. It is the X100.4 "USA" version for whatever that means. Still made in Korea? :naughty:

^^^^Agree 110% as I'm running a TI 500.4 (w/ a TI 1200.1) and the sound quality and sheer amount of headroom is just fuckin' crazy. 8)

now with the Ti being the oldest of the 3, I would spend a little time to ensure it is in good working order as well as to protect it. Pop the top off and make sure that the caps do not show signs of needing replaced. They are known to wear out in time, yours could be now. While you have the top off, spend a night and throw a coat of clear on it. The Ti amps worst feature was that they tend to rust after some time, by adding a clear coat to it you can extend the time that it looks nice. I just did my pieces and love the way they are glossy now instead of flat.

done. I guess I lost my mind for a second and forgot how insanely good the Ti makes your stuff sound (even Eclipse speakers). just finished putting it in after looking at it for a couple years sitting in a box in the garage. sorry but the clear coat wasn't in the cards today but thanks again for reminding me of the obvious choice here.

Wait, you have an X400.1? Keep the X100.4 then... matching setup! Not to mention it is the most powerful of the three options. The Ti's crossover is more flexible but it is older and may need capacitor replacement within the next few years.
