who designed this amp.....

Post by marko »

picked up this amp the other week, always fancied one but never seen one on the bay so went for it and got it for £50 ($100), it's a caliber evolution 6 channel with x-overs, noise gate, etc.. looking on ampguts i noticed a strong resemblance to the memthis belle and also some soundstreams are similar too, any ideas?

If I had to guess it would be an engineer from the "Old" Soundstream.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Looks to be influenced by Sound Stream REF series, In fact looks a lot like one inside and out. I will ask my buddy that worked for SS for 10 years, to see if he knows who copied this one. Clean looking amp though. I'm just not into shiny things. :)

it's a Korean brand amp.
I'm sure that the company which made this amp also makes amps for other brands.
It is a budget amp but some Korean forums members say it is very nice and powerfull amp.

Thanks for the info youngfu, and welcome to the phorum! 8)

Those Koreans are extremely talented at copying designs. I'd bet that amp sounds great, unless they decided to cheap out on parts (not by the looks of it).

I wouldn't say it's a copy.
I believe they use same design of other USA brand amps under permision.
