zpa 0.5 question

Post by gixerboy »

ive been offered good money for my zpa 0.5
the problem is i heard the guy talking on the phone and he seemed more than impressed that my amp has the red coil thingys in it and not the green:oops: (you know what i mean)
is this a rare thing or is it nothing to care about.
im only asking as i dont want to sell it if its slightly more special than others out there
cheers
its nice to be important , but its more important to be nice

From what i've been hearing, they're a little more on the rare side. I have a 0.3 and a 0.5 never looked at mine. They're both white so I'm not selling anyways because of that. Some what of a limited edition in white.

I checked with RolandK at PG and they say the color is just a color nothing new or different spec wise at all. So your just liking Red more than green. They stock both parts only because they need to color match if they need to repair a amp. I myself prefer green wire. Red s ok, but everybody uses Red and Yellow wire. Green is less common on other brands.
Just a FYI from the boys at PG. hope this helps C

the red ones if i remember correctly were the v2 units. They made these changes because of heat problems causing the amps to kick into protection mode.

Red just looks prettier I guess. My last name is Green, so I think the Green ones are prettier.

Just found a V2 on ebay w/green toriods. Proof that the reds arn't for V2s only and that heat thing.

V1/V2 cosmetic difference would be the fans V1= 11 blades V2= 7 blades.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

The biggest difference with the ZPA v2 is some of the components in the power supply were beefed up or changed value to keep them from overheating. The ground/float switch was removed and permanently wired to common ground. The fans were changed but the v1 fans were not a problem on the ZPA, just the ZX's.
