Ti600.2 or rsd 600.1

Post by rh_916 »

I need an amp to run 2- 12 rsdc in 2ohm in an sealed box 1.2 cu ft per sub. I know the ti600.2 has more power but would the 600.1 rsd be decent running it to or should i get something stronger.

A bit of clarification... are they dual 2 ohm woofers or dual 4 ohm?

The ti is class a/b and will draw more power (and sound better in my opinion)

The rsd is class d and will use less power.

If it was going in a trunk i would use the rsd as any sq lost from a class d amp wont be very noticeable

If you are running in a hatchback or have the back seat folded down i would go with the ti. If i am understanding you rite you will be running 2 12s with a total load of 2 ohms on the amp. The ti will do that, but it will pull alot of amps and will run hot

Just to note... As it affected my soon to be install.

The Ti600.2 needs to breath and produces heat. Depending on your install this may or may not be an issue.

IMO Class D if it for dedicated sub duty. (says the hypocrite running a ZX500 bridged on his sub)

The Ti600 would be beasty on the front stage though!

With 2 dual 2 ohm loads, you will have a final 2 ohms mono load. The RSD600.1 would be ideal for that load. The Ti600.2 is only designed for 4 ohms bridged, and would have a harder time on 2 ohms, getting hotter and drawing more current.

I'd go with the RSD.

Ti600 is an awesome amp but not much heatsink. If you load it down and pound the crap out of it, it may kick into thermal protect quickly and often.

Go RSd :) I had a 600Ti and it was run at 2ohm's for sub duty and sucked a ton of power. I really like my RSd's that i have now. Large footprint but thats the only drawback.

I agree!!! they dropped off the planet all of a sudden.

The 1200.1 used to be everywhere for cheap.

Just pick me up an rsd600.1 instead since i was just using an sealed box for my rsdc's. If i was to run it ported i would of got me something around 1000 watts and i couldn't see myself buying an different brand of amp since i been using phoenix gold for like 6 years now.

Good man!
I love my RSd's,
I have not had any issue's with any of my 3.....
Hard to hear any discernable difference between them and the ZX's

The 600.1 will be more than fine. You'd only be looking at a 3dB difference going to a 1200.1, but you would be straining your electrical system a lot more!
