Select Products

Post by dgoodhue »

I made an order from them and they call me up a little while later saying they were out of the speaker grill size I wanted and it was backordered. It was 16x32 and $31.25. They had a smaller size but it was going to $28.75 for half the amount. I asked for a discount since I was basically paying the same price for half the amount. My order was $140-150. After a few go arounds with the manager of the place, he couldn't even take $5 off my order say they have almost no profit margin. I mention their has to be $5 of profit in my order. He said if I take $5 he won't make any money on my order. I told him he is losing a customer and this is the last time that I order from him. I gave in and added the two grill items.

I thought about it for a secound and realized that were only items I didn't know where to easily get elsewhere. I called him back up and I cancelled most of my order, except for the two items I don't know where else to order. I could tell he was irratated, he said my order was already boxed up. I told him I can get those items cheaper and since his customer was poor, I wasn't going to give them my patronage. I called up another place and they were super helpful and more than willing to take my money. I saved myself $40 going elsewhere.

They have some products that are hard to find elsewhere, but I have always had problems with them in the past. Almost every time I have ordered it has been delayed or not shipped at all. Items were missing from 2 orders. Just tons of problems here with them.

What product(s) are you having a tough time finding?
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

How about a website for reference. Is it like Parts Express?

I haven't had any issues with them ever. And i don't mind paying the extra, it saves the hassel of going to 10 different places

every time i have ever ordered from them I have had to call multiple times to get them to ship it. I quit using them a while back for anything. I still use the site for reference and find my item elsewhere.

I've had similar experiences with them. The last time I ordered was to buy a bunch of the Definition RCA ends. They said they no longer stocked them. I ended up buying some Stinger ends. They didn't look as good but were alot cheaper. Maybe they've hired some new people or something. I've been callled twice by that salesman asking if everything was ok and if I needed anything. The service in the past sucked. Maybe it's getting better. Only time will tell.

Just a heads up on Select Products. You guys might of had bad experiences with them in the past and i can understand that. On the bright side we purchased Select Products at the end of 2008 and have revamped the operation from top to bottom. They went from a 3 man operation to a 25 man sales staff and 8 person tech team. I think you would be surprised at the change in the level of service that we provide to our customers now that Select is under the AAMP of America umbrella.

This post is from 2007. As far as I can tell he didn't have a bad experience with AAMP.
